Today's inflation report confirms what Americans already knew: Trump's illegal war and reckless tariffs are still driving up prices

There is a direct connection between this outcome and Trump’s war and tariffs that’s costing families thousands annually. Congressional Republicans are on record for enabling this dozens of times via war powers resolution votes and decisions to extend Trump’s tariff authority.

Average hourly earnings, adjusted for inflation, fell 0.5 percent in September and are now back to where they were in January, 2025. That means that Americans, on average, have experienced zero real wage growth since Trump returned to office.

Here's the key problem...inflation has wiped out wage gains for 6 months now. It's a financial squeeze. Americans are trying to work more hours to make up for it, but many are still falling behind. Many people are worse off. As BLS wrote, In the past year, "real average hourly earnings decreased 0.7%. The change in real average hourly earnings combined with a 0.6% increase in the average workweek resulted in a 0.1% decrease in real average weekly earnings."

Inflation is up again. Not because of a pandemic. Not because of a natural disaster. Because of Trump’s war, tariffs, and corporate tax breaks. It really is this simple: Republicans took over, and then drove up the cost of living in America.
BREAKING: Inflation climbed to a 4-month high in September as the Iran war continued to drive up gasoline prices ahead of key midterm elections. Prices rose 3.7% in September compared to a year earlier. Read more: abcnews.link/Le5jZ0N

.@turek4iowa: We are in this situation because of this unnecessary war in Iran that Ashley Hinson voted in favor of continuing 7 times. This has led to gas prices going up in Iowa more than almost any other state, diesel prices being at an all-time high as our farmers are going into harvest. It has disproportionately hurt Iowa. We need to end this war in Iran.

U.S. inflation jumped to 3.7% in September as the war in Iran drove up fuel prices and put pressure on the cost of numerous other products.

Inflation has nearly wiped out all wage gains since January 2025. That's how big of gamechanger the war in Iran has been on Americans' finances. Since January 2025: CPI Inflation has grown +5.4% Wages (average hourly earnings) +5.5% This is a very different picture from President Trump's first term when wages were up over 15%, well above about 8% inflation. It helps explain the frustration many households feel right now with the economy.

Inflation ticks up to 3.7%, above the 3.0% it was when Trump took office, according to the last report before midterm elections that appear to be turning in large part on economic pessimism and concerns about affordability. @colbyLsmith nytimes.com/live/2026/10/14/…

Hey MAGA it’s James Talarico in Dubai with his mistress…. *checks notes* My apologies it’s Ken Paxton with his mistress in Dubai with criminals indicted for healthcare fraud.
New footage obtained by the WSJ shows Ken Paxton and his girlfriend watching fireworks at a party in Dubai alongside two men indicted on federal healthcare fraud charges who failed to return to the U.S. to face prosecution.
