You’d be hard pushed to find a better role model for social mobility and supporting disadvantaged young people than #freddieflintoff what an amazing and inspiring bloke #freddiesfieldofdreams

Enjoying hearing from some parents of former pupils today telling me about the A-level successes for my first class (Y5-6 2014-16) You never forget your first class - always special. So proud of them.

This is horrifying and terrifying in equal measure. Is this where we are at? Being a DSL is a load of stressful accountability enough on its own without this insanity. Depleted services, real risk. No wonder this wasn’t top priority. Should have been thrown out.

Every year that MPs have had their imbalanced pay rises compared to the rest of the public sector, the defence has been that they are ‘following the independent review body’ - this will be beyond unacceptable when it happens news.sky.com/story/rishi-sun…

4 1/2 minutes on hold today waiting to get a #999 call answered for someone having a potential heart attack. The #NHS isn’t ‘at breaking point’ - it is broken. The phones aren’t even being answered. Never forgive the Tories for what they’ve done. Terrifying.

It’s not a race to the bottom. I support the #nurses they deserve a pay rise. lumping all the public sector together to divide us doesn’t help. Anyone who clapped them and doesn’t not support them now is a hypocrite.

#NAHT canvassing members on industrial action. Reasons are sound but it will not help the reputation of an already struggling profession. All professional unions should be lobbying for a general strike rather than this which allows division and a ‘race to the bottom’ mentality

Yesterday @educationgovuk published KS2 provisional results for 2022. These are the first since 2019 (no KS2 assessments in 2020 or 2021). A short thread of what we are seeing:

NAHT membership now has doubled with new role - it costs more than my house and car insurance put together. Not sure this feels like value for money for what is largely an insurance policy with little competition - why so expensive?

Freddie Flintoff has nailed the most important aspect in developing young people: relationships. What a top bloke. #FreddieFlintoffsFieldofDreams
Analysis of 2022 MTC scores (based on results of 18,683 pupils): Mean score = 20/25 30% of pupils achieve full marks (25/25 = mode) Score of 15/20 or lower places pupil in lowest quintile

£65,738 - MP salary in 2010 £84,144 - MP salary in 2022 If rail, teachers, nurses, etc had the same rate of increase, there would be no strikes.

It’s not a race to the bottom - let’s not let the Tories divide and conquer. I stand with the unions. #dontcrossapicket #railstrike
