I simply cannot get over the fact that Rahul Gandhi hasn't yet said a single word about the bravery of Captain Smit Machchhar. There are certain things that should be beyond your petty politics, especially if you dream of becoming the PM of India one day.

Dear @BCCI how difficult is it to get state associations to toe the line in providing basics like a clean washroom at venues. It gets worse during domestic matches. @lonsaikia @kscaofficial1 #RanjiTrophy
Yes, the number of vehicles without any plates at all is also quite surprising. No enforcement, no fear or any action.
It's not a number plate, but a slap on the face of law enforcement agencies of Maharashtra. Unfortunately, @DGPMaharashtra seems to be quite used to such slaps, given the sheer number of vehicles with illegal plates/no plates plying on MH roads.

A single person going by a car should not get the priority.
30 people commuting by bus, should have their way.
BRTS corridor should not be disturbed for cars. It should be expanded to other areas.
No amount of space is enough for cars.

Your dept issued road accidents reports itself claims that 60-70% of the road accidents are due to overspeeding.
Why are you encouraging driving up to 144 kmph instead of suggesting ways to prevent it?

What a loser! As IB head in Kashmir, he had no clue that bus loads of younsters were being sent to the border belt to push them across for training in PoJK.
During his days, the bus conductors of the buses headed to Uri and Kupwara would shout, "Azad Kashmir....Muzaffarabad...." right at the bus stand near Batmaloo in Srinagar.
And he didn't get a wind of it!

@navalMH @navalMH I understand there is a water cut due to the low monsoon. But where are these tanker fellows getting water from? And to top it, the buildings don’t have large enough storage tanks, thus these tanker fellows after filling the tanks are throwing this water in the road wasting it. Where are we heading in governance and social responsibilities. These buildings are commercial hostels with Cafe in a purely residential area. I am at a loss to understand how and who gives them permissions.

The great rabies scam enabled through corruption! It's the innocent animals who have to suffer. #SaveIndianDogs
Civilized societies prioritize saving human lives, maximizing their happiness, and minimizing their fears. Many dog owners spend time and money to train, vaccinate, and neuter their pets to live responsibly in their societies.
On the other hand, the so-called "dog lovers" of India only want to feed and pet the strays without being responsible for the trauma, deaths, and accidents on Indian streets they cause. They must give up the selfishness of their low-touch attachment and oxytocin hits to prevent such unfortunate incidents and let municipalities do their job of animal control.

"We waited for 11 hours from 4am till 3pm to receive our Father's body from mortuary after completing 100s of procedures of Kerala Police. Without any procedure, the accused went on bail even before we got to see our father's dead body" - Victim Jayabalakrishnan's children 😭
The recent Mercedes-Benz accident in Kochi has sparked public outrage after the children of victim Jayabalakrishnan questioned the apparent difference between the procedures their family had to endure and the speed with which the 17-year-old accused was released on station bail.
The children of Jayabalakrishnan started their protest late evening yesterday even before their father's dead body haven't yet finished burning, before the police station at Cheranalloor. Jayabalakrishnan's death is not merely a story about a damaged luxury car or a controversial bail decision. It is the loss of a working father whose family now has to face life without him.
Their demand is ultimately for a fair investigation, accountability under the law and assurance that the circumstances of their father's death will not be overlooked.

This was in the late 1970s.
A relative of mine, who lived in one of the poshest localities of Delhi, had been educated at one of the best boarding schools in India, and whose father had held powerful positions in the government, joined JNU to pursue a PhD.
I saw him one day in the canteen and walked across only to find him look right through me.
A few months later, at a family dinner, I was taken aback when he came up to me and told me, almost apologetically, that he would prefer not to associate with me in any way at college. I was not to let anyone know that we were related.
I would occasionally see him arrive on a Vespa scooter, dressed in a shabby kurta and pyjama, and head straight for a dhaba or canteen, where he would sit for hours with a few others like him.
I was subsequently told by another cousin that his driver, an absolute luxury in those days, would follow him on a scooter to a designated point. There, the driver would hand the scooter over to our budding proletarian and take the car back home.
All this charade only to establish his credentials.
Cut to a good twenty years later, at a family wedding. He greeted me with great warmth.
By then, as the family grapevine had it, he wasn’t doing much beyond occupying one part of the house his father had built and renting out the other half.
When he caught up with what I was now doing he caustically remarked, “So, you run a business, is it?”
“Yes. I work hard and generate a livelihood for around sixty people, who work equally hard.”
“Well, some of us have to do bigger and greater stuff,” he had replied.
My husband later told me that if looks could kill, the man would have been reduced to cinder.
I have to say that if I have great disdain today at big bindis, shabby kurtas, dirty feet and stubble, sported by people who, in those days, could be found chuffing away at imported 555s or sipping single malt while posturing as champions of the proletariat, it is because of him.
He left me with a lifelong allergy to hypocrisy passed off as ideology.

Lady constables driving under the influence of alcohol. A vehicle without number plates. Who is enforcing the law when those expected to uphold it are breaking it?
Has Pune become a city where traffic rules are a joke, the powerful get away with anything, and accountability is DEAD? Pune deserves answers, not excuses. WHO WILL SAVE PUNE?

Serious questions over law enforcement and police accountability have emerged in Pune after video footage surfaced showing a woman, purportedly a police constable, driving under the influence of alcohol in a vehicle without registration number plates. In the viral video, a distressed two-wheeler rider is seen confronting the woman after narrowly escaping a head-on collision, alleging that she was driving recklessly on the wrong side of the road. When questioned about whether she had been drinking, the woman brazenly admitted to alcohol consumption and hurled verbal abuses at the citizen filming the encounter. The footage has ignited fierce backlash online, with citizens questioning how road safety regulations can be effectively enforced when those tasked with upholding the law blatantly violate it.

🚨SHOCKING - FIR against Malabar:
A man walked into a Malabar Gold showroom in Bilaspur with a simple request: exchange his old 22-carat HUID-hallmarked bracelet.
The staff ran it through their XRF machine. Once. Twice. Three times.
Every reading came back the same: 20 carat.
They even told him the hallmark didn’t exist.
He called the local jeweller who had sold him the bracelet. The jeweller walked in, confirmed the HUID, and asked them to test it again.
Same machine. Same bracelet. Same room.
This time an employee adjusted something on the machine. Suddenly the reading flipped to 916 - pure 22 carat.
The jeweller recorded everything. The Sarafa Association arrived. Police registered an FIR against the showroom manager and the machine operator. The machine and DVR were seized.
This wasn’t a small local shop. This was Malabar Gold “the chain that advertises trust, purity, and BIS standards across India”.
One bracelet. Two readings. An 8% gap in gold value. And the only thing that changed was who was watching.
If a hallmarked piece can magically lose two carats the moment a customer wants to exchange it, and magically regain them the moment someone pushes back, what exactly is the machine testing?
Customers don’t walk into Malabar expecting a calibration error that only appears when they’re selling gold.
They walk in expecting the purity printed on their receipt.
The FIR is real.
The readings are on record.
The machine was seized.
Malabar still hasn’t explained why the same piece of gold needed a “setting” before it became 22 carat again.
Until they do, this isn’t a machine glitch.
It’s a business model.
