Football has taught me that adversity doesn’t define you — how you respond to it does. Yesterday I suffered a broken leg that will end my season earlier than I ever imagined. It’s hard knowing I won’t be able to finish this season on the field with my teammates, especially after all the work we put in together. I love this game, I love competing, and I love being out there battling with my brothers. But I also know football is about much more than what happens when everything is going your way. As a quarterback and captain, I’ve always tried to lead by example, and that responsibility doesn’t disappear because I’m injured. Leadership matters even more when things get difficult. I’ll still be there for my teammates, supporting them, encouraging them, studying the game, and doing everything I can to help our team succeed. I’m also proud of the film I was able to put together before my injury. My pre-injury highlights show the quarterback and competitor I am — my arm, athleticism, decision-making, toughness, leadership, and ability to make plays. To every college coach who watches my film: know that I’m just getting started. Those highlights represent where I was before this setback. They don’t represent my ceiling. Now I have a different opponent in front of me: surgery, recovery, rehab, and earning my way back onto that field. I’m going to attack every part of this process with the same discipline, toughness, competitiveness, and work ethic that I bring to football. There are going to be difficult days, but I’m ready for them. Every rehab session, every workout, every rep, and every setback will be another opportunity to get better. I believe moments like this reveal who you are. I want coaches, teammates, and everyone who believes in me to know that I’m not going to run from adversity. I’m going to attack it. Thank you to my coaches, teammates, family, friends, and everyone who has reached out and prayed for me. The support I’ve already received means more than I can explain. My season may have been cut short, but my football journey is far from over. I’m going to use this experience to become a better quarterback, a stronger leader, a tougher competitor, and a better person. God has a plan for me, and I trust it. This injury will be one chapter of my story. It won’t be the ending. Watch my pre-injury film. Follow the comeback. Remember the name. The comeback starts now. And when I step back onto that field, I’ll be stronger, hungrier, smarter, and better than ever. 🏈🙏 #QB12 #StudentAthlete #Captain #ComebackSeason #TrustTheProcess #FaithOverFear @coach_kinder @WNYAthletics @wny_football @QBUniverseQBU @WSWWarhawks @WSW_FB @Elite11 @LITMINC @TheQBEngineer @BrianDerenda @CoachKeighron

What I love most about seeing what Cole is doing. He has done this in the face of everyone that said he couldnt do this. Everytime someone doubted this young man. He proved them wrong. This is a true role model for young football players to aspire to be!! Cole, we are all proud of you in WNY!!
