Victory at last. The first person charged with the death penalty under Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023, arrested in Aug 2023 for “aggravated homosexuality” and later downgraded to “unnatural offenses,” has had the case dismissed by a Ugandan court after 2+ years. Thank you to all our partners, the legal team & friends. 🏳️🌈🇺🇬

Last night I attended a meeting of Stevenage Labour Party members, role-holders and councillors 🌹
Our message is clear. We are united, we are a family and we are focused on serving our residents 🫵
Stevenage is not a playground for people’s political self-importance.

This Thursday 1st May, Vote for your local Labour candidate 🗳️🌹
Move on from a failing Conservative County Council with Labour’s plan for change 🔁
If you risk voting for Reform, you could end up with an invisible Farage cheerleader who has no real plan or presence 👎

I’m rather proud of our PM at present. Once one of his predecessors spoke of the new world coming to the liberation of the old. Not today, for it is old world which shames the new. And when the US President visits, the streets will be full so he can hear us.

I've always admired @Siobhain_Mc
and this a perfect illustration of why. It takes some guts to rip apart your own party's flagship legislation. But she is entirely right to do so. It's an appalling bill that deliberately destroys two decades of school reforms by both Lab and Cons governments

I’ve had a lot of correspondence recently from residents commuting on the trains from Stevenage and Knebworth who have faced delays and cancellations. As a regular rail user, I share your frustrations.
For a long time, the quality of service levels have fallen short of what is needed to get people to work on time, ensure they can make the school pick up and be able to enjoy life without worry of being stranded.
I was proud to have helped secure 3 new fast train services from Knebworth to Kings Cross, but they won't be of benefit if service levels keep falling short.
One of my first priorities in the new year is to schedule a meeting with the relevant railway operators to put across the strongly held views of residents about the poor service levels – particularly in recent weeks.
Please email me on [email protected] to share your experiences so I can build a strong case about the reality for commuters.
