Replying to @lumaril
@Lumaril launches out of stealth today. It's an industrial autonomy company for the plants America already has. The people who know how to run those plants best are retiring faster than they can be replaced, and most of what they know was never written down. Lumaril captures it with models that run equipment in real time alongside expert operators. Already live at multiple facilities. The founders created Palantir Foundry. Congratulations Mark, @bbavardage, and team. We at @Felicis are proud to be believers in you since seed. Read more from Lumaril: lumaril.substack.com/p/nothi…

I’m extremely grateful that @tolgakart, @pyetras and the entire @3rddimensionai team put their trust in @felicis. It started with a simple belief: Gaussian splats and NeRFs could turn 2D images into 3D worlds. At the time (Jan 2024), it seemed everyone was focused on text-to-img, text-to-video... but few understood the value of img-to-3D pixels. Tolga & Piotr did, and they built Third Dimension to close this gap. Any future with robust autonomous systems (beyond just Waymos zipping around SF) needs robust simulation. I can’t wait to see what the team builds at Rivian. @asenkut and I are eternally in their corner and wishing them the best!
Two years ago, @pyetras and I started @3rddimensionai with a simple conviction: the future of simulation would be grounded in reality. Only then could autonomous systems be validated in sim, at scale. Today, I’m excited to share that @3rddimensionai is being acquired by @Rivian The real world is incredibly complex, with a long tail of rare events that makes validation nearly impossible at scale. Instead of trying to recreate that complexity by hand, we believed we could start with reality itself — reconstruct the world from sensor data, then make it controllable, editable and generative. Over the last two years, we built that technology and assembled one of the most incredible teams working in spatial AI. Rivian is a natural fit for our next chapter. It was a competitive process, but we ultimately chose Rivian for four reasons: - The product is simply incredible. - We’ll be 100% focused on our original thesis: how do we use simulation to validate autonomy at scale? We’ll get to put what we’ve built directly in the loop with real vehicles, real-world data and an autonomy stack. - The Rivian team is incredibly ambitious. This already shows in the quality of the vehicles, and the autonomy available to date. - James has built a no nonsense, first principles team focused on the task at hand. On a more personal level, I’ve long admired @RJScaringe grit and determination as a founder, and I’m looking forward to learning from him. There are so many people who got us here. @pyetras, my co-founder, has been an incredible partner from day one, and never stopped pushing our vision forward and the bar higher technically. Christian, our Chief Researcher, elevated how we think about research and what we should be ambitious enough to tackle. And the entire @3rddimensionai team: many of you left bigger, more established, better-funded companies to take a chance on this. I can’t thank you enough. I’m incredibly proud of this team, and very happy that we get to stay together and keep doing what we love. As a first-time founder, I’m incredibly grateful for the backing of our investors. Their support gave me the confidence to take risks, set ambitious goals, and be honest when something wasn’t working. @asenkut @DetweilerJames at @felicis gave us the backing and legitimacy to think much bigger. Fouad at @Soma_Capital wrote me my first check as a founder. The teams at @MVP_Ventures and @AbstractVC rode out the highs and lows and rolled up their sleeves when we needed them. Thank you. And to my wife, @clairekart , and all the partners and families behind our team: startups have a way of becoming part of your lives whether you signed up for them or not. Thank you for the late nights, the uncertainty, and all the times the company came home with us. I’m confident this next chapter is a positive one for our employees and their families. Finally, thank you to @RJScaringe, James, Ben and everyone at @Rivian for believing in the team and what we’ve built. We have a lot to do. I’m excited to get started. techcrunch.com/2026/10/22/ri…

Very proud of the two great team that made this possible! Our purpose built and high performance SRM on the stand 3 months from CRADA signing.
Singularity and NAWCWD signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) to cooperatively develop an advanced solid rocket motor and provide breakthrough range for tactical air defense.    Three months from executing this CRADA, our combined team successfully completed an aggressive static fire campaign proving out this design, and that government and industry can move fast when capability is meant for the warfighter. In March 2024 I flew to Seattle to meet @vikhyatk & @jason_allen from @moondreamai. We talked for hours about what a small, open-source visual reasoning model would mean for the developer community (+ downstream commercial applications). It was an immediate mind meld. Shook hands to lead their seed round shortly thereafter. I'm eternally grateful they chose @felicis, and am beyond psyched for the journey to continue at @PrimeIntellect.

A physician on last night's @60Minutes trains AI to read lab results, on top of her full-time job. She's one of 100,000+ experts at @Mercor teaching models the judgment that was never written down. At the start of last year Mercor was 20 people. Today it's 400. We at @Felicis are proud true believers of @BrendanFoody and team. nitter.cf/BrendanFoody/status/21…
Training AI is the fastest growing job category in history. In 2 years, we went from paying out nothing to > $6M / day. Many of the top AI researchers say this will be the largest job category in the economy. Learn more about it on 60 minutes!

Today we're announcing $75M to build Solcoa One, our 500-tonne rare earth metallization plant in Nevada. At Solcoa, we believe rare earths are the foundation of America's next great industrial era. An era we intend to win on the merits, with superior American technology.

Demand for magnet-grade rare earth metal could grow four to seven times by 2040, and today most of it is made in China. Solcoa Industries has reinvented the chemistry to make it in America, and is scaling it in a warehouse in Alameda. Why we backed @hoomanrenezhad and Artem Iurkovskyi, from @DetweilerJames: felicis.link/8pjQ7je

In a warehouse in Alameda, I watched @HoomanReNezhad hold a crowbar up to a magnet that used to run an MRI machine. The magnet won. It tore the bar out of his hands and pinned it to itself with a loud crack. That magnet is about to be melted down to recover its neodymium, the metal at the heart of every EV motor, drone, wind turbine, and precision weapon America builds. You can't make one of these magnets without it. And almost no one outside China can turn rare earths into the pure metal the magnets require. Solcoa Industries can. Hooman and his co-founder Artem Iurkovskyi have reinvented the chemistry that turns rare earth and scrap into magnet-grade metal. They do it at lower cost than the conventional route, without the greenhouse gases. The US hasn't commercialized a new way to make a primary metal since the 1940s. Solcoa is doing it today. A year ago they made this metal by hand, a few grams at a time. Today the line runs at 10 tonnes a year and their first commercial plant is built for 500. America wins by inventing. @Felicis is proud to invest in Solcoa's Seed.

Physical AI has a demo disease. The cure is deployment. Skild's execution is of the highest order: 60+ paying customers and $100M in ARR, just ten months. And the vast majority of that revenue is already coming from manipulation-related use cases. The team has also shown why deployment isn’t downstream of robotics research; it is itself a research frontier. Working in real-world environments revealed that customers need accuracy, speed, adaptability, and the ability to learn new tasks quickly. These insights directly shaped S1 and its approach to in-context learning. Congrats @SkildAI - this the tip of the iceberg! We at @Felicis are proud to back @DeepakPathak, @gupta_abhinav_ and the entire Skild AI team. cc: @asenkut nitter.cf/SkildAI/status/2098093…
We just hit 100M ARR within 10 months of starting deployments. We are in factory lines. On construction sites. In kitchens. In data centers. Cleaning. Welding. Building. Cooking. Deploying.
