🛠 We’re closing the gap from iOS quickly, with new features landing regularly. Folders and Card Notes are on the way and will be available before Christmas.
🍟 McDonald's Japan had a pretty clever idea back in 2002. What if familiar Pokémon TCG illustrations could tell a little more of the story?
🎨 The original illustrators returned to show the same Pokémon and settings they had illustrated from different perspectives, sometimes capturing moments just before or after the original scene!
✨ Across two promotions, 14 cards gave collectors another way to appreciate illustrations from existing expansions, with some incredible work from illustrators like Mitsuhiro Arita and Tomokazu Komiya.
👀 Did you know Japanese Pokémon cards originally had a completely different back, with a big design error?
🎴 From 1996 until 2001, Japanese cards featured the classic Pocket Monsters design. It was replaced when the e-Card series introduced the back we still recognize today!
🛡️ Armored Mewtwo is one of those Pokémon TCG cards with a fascinating story behind it, going all the way back to the very first Pokémon movie!
🎬 In 1998, Mewtwo appeared wearing mechanical armor created by Giovanni to control its incredible powers. The same design even appeared in three episodes of the original anime!
✨ When Mewtwo Strikes Back — Evolution arrived in 2019, the movie received a CGI remake and Mewtwo got a completely new armor design. That's the version featured on the Armored Mewtwo SM228 promo card!
👀 Do you own this promo? Which design do you prefer, the original 1998 armor or the redesigned 2019 version?
🎉 The 30th Celebration keeps getting bigger, with another wave of cards joining the anniversary lineup.
✨ The Legendary Birds, Zacian and Zamazenta, Groudon and Kyogre are among the latest reveals, alongside more Pikachu featuring the celebration’s Day and Night themes.
🎃 Halloween calls for another tiny collection! Although this one might have gotten a little bigger than planned...
👻 We picked some of our favorite spooky Pokémon TCG illustrations, from Misdreavus, Spiritomb and Trevenant to Mimikyu, Chandelure, Dusknoir and Greavard!
🌙 Of course, Halloween isn't just about Ghost types. Darkrai, Umbreon, Absol, Zorua and plenty of mysterious nighttime illustrations fit right in!

👀 Bubble Mew, Moonbreon, Treekachu... Some Pokémon cards are so iconic that collectors rarely even use their official names!
😴 From Sleepy Tyranitar and Sleepy Raichu to the famous Munch illustrations and Yu Nagaba collaborations, nicknames can come from almost anything!
⚡ And then there are TAG TEAM favorites like Reshizard, Pikarom, Mew3 and ADP, plus entire groups like the Crystal Pokémon!
🔎 The best part? You can search for Pokémon and card nicknames directly on Dex, making it easier to find exactly what you're looking for!
⚡ Did you know some of Ash's most memorable Pokémon have their own TCG cards?
🇯🇵 From Torkoal and Grovyle to Phanpy and Aipom, many of these cards were released exclusively in Japan, making them fascinating pieces of Pokémon anime history to collect.
🔎 You can discover them all in Dex by searching for "Ash's" and exploring their different language releases.
🧩 Episode 7 of Linked Illustrations is here! We're still discovering connections between Pokémon TCG cards, and this time there are some really fun stories hidden across different illustrations.
🍎 Scorbunny, Grookey and Sobble tell a little story involving some disappearing fruit, leaving poor Sobble with nothing and in tears! Meanwhile, Lombre and Dewpider share the exact same background.
🌙 Other connections bring together familiar faces, like Lillie, Solgaleo and Lunala across different stages of their evolutions. Even Ho-Oh and Lugia share a connected illustration!
🏟️ And sometimes it's all about perspective. Charizard and Pikachu show the same stadium from two different viewpoints, both illustrated by the same illustrator.
👀 Did you already know these connections? Which one is your favorite, and have you found any others we should feature in Episode 8?
