A true position doesn't need protecting. That's the first thing worth noticing. And when it isn't tied to your identity, when it's not actually about you, being challenged on it doesn't even feel like an attack anymore. It's just information. So there's nothing left to defend, which means you're free to actually test it. Keep it if it holds. Change it if it doesn't. Either way, that uncertainty stops being something you're bracing against. It becomes momentum instead.
