Your regular reminder that governments subsidise flying by not taxing aviation fuel.
NEARLY £6 billion! 💷💷 That’s how much we could have raised in 2023 if aviation fuel was taxed the same as the fuel that goes into our cars. But the UK doesn’t tax aviation fuel at all, and never has. 🧵

Congratulations on your ministerial appointment. I wish you every success. Please protect & nurture the Arts: the Tories were wrong in their assumption that the working class do not rate the Arts; we do. Speak w @JANUSZCZAK, Prof @DrJaninaRamirez, @wmarybeard, @bettanyhughes

You have a huge decision to make on Thursday: 1) Tories in Opposition. 5 years of endless culture wars & immigrant-bashing. 2) LibDems in Opposition. Tories powerless & voiceless on the back benches. If the Tories are pushed into third, everything changes. Here's why: 1/12

Everyone knows Labour are going to win the election, but if you’re feeling like there’s no point in voting as the outcome is a foregone conclusion, I’d like to draw your attention to something really radical that is on offer tomorrow: 1/8

Yes we all have work to put food on the table but I’ve been watching the ethical, moral and personal choices of people in the heritage/ history sector over the past year and I am horrified. Art/heritage washing is rife. Stop, think and just say no. amp.theguardian.com/politics…

Lefty luvvies leave litter mountain So much for sustainability ….. So much for their care about the planet…
This is the mess that’s left after Glastonbury festival every year. Majority goes to landfill. And I bet half of these virtue-signalling leftists vote for the Green Party.

What you need to know for polling day: ❗ Don’t forget to bring photo ID ✅ Don’t worry if your ID is out of date. You can use out of date photo ID, if it still looks like you and the name is the same as the one you used when you registered to vote.

And for the record, it was taxpayers who did the funding. It wasn’t Rishi’s millions that paid for furlough, was it? It was ours, the hardworking taxpayers who you’ve fleeced and lied to for the last 14 years while overseeing the demolition of public services.
