NEAR Protocol is running in production what much of the industry is still building toward.
The infrastructure for the agent economy is being decided now. NEAR has been building it since 2017.

Well said, nicely done @zksnarks_.
"Bring more people into Zcash. Give them a reason to stay."
That's exactly what Aurora Intents was built for: to remove the one step that keeps people out before they ever get a reason to stick around.
Doing something new is rarely clean.
New ideas create friction. Things break. Not everyone gets it immediately.
We made people interact with Zcash before asking them to care about Zcash.
From pre-launch through the auction, we built Zilk Road to make an otherwise confusing path into ZEC feel intuitive, seamless, and fun.
The auction was completely blind.
Bidders submitted their maximum. The top 8,000 bids cleared at one price. Losing bids were refunded in full. Winners received everything above the clearing price back.
Once the auction settled, $19M+ was promptly returned to bidders.
Meanwhile:
42,000 new wallets created across Noir, Zodl, and Vizor.
~$40M in blind auction bids.
~20M routed through @auroraisnear, powered by @NEARProtocol.
Record-breaking activity across the Zcash network.
Tens of thousands of bids later, people who had never touched ZEC are now inside the ecosystem.
New wallets.
Shielded ZEC.
New communities discovering what Zcash actually does.
That is not a distraction from the mission.
That IS adoption.
Zcash does not need another thousand people tweeting about privacy.
It needs millions of people discovering why privacy matters by actually using it.
As for royalties: we got that wrong.
5% wasn’t necessary, and it works against what we’re building.
The blind auction was a free market: blind bids, no influence from us. Secondary should follow the same principle.
No fee in the middle.
All royalties collected to date will go toward Zcash builder grants.
Royalties are 0% from here.
We’re going to keep experimenting. Some things will work. Some won’t. When we get something wrong, we’ll fix it.
The goal stays the same:
Bring more people into Zcash.
Give them a reason to stay.
Build culture worth staying for.
Build and fund products that advance privacy for everyone.

Even more valuable than tracking near:native price, you should listen to what @ilblackdragon is saying about the future.

There are a dozen more amazing investments you could make if you listen to him.

I worked at NEAR for years and it never behaved like the rest of crypto. We just shipped infra and utility that barely anyone noticed. Now my whole timeline is the near:native token price. It finally feels like I work in crypto.

Entrevista no @gazetadopovo!

Nobody was demanding cars, they wanted faster horses.
While crypto was a small part of PnL of funds or income for businesses - privacy indeed didn't matter as much.
As crypto rails becomes a core infra - funds want to trade without leaking alpha, businesses run payroll without everyone knowing how much they are paid.
For retail it's different - most is still using CEXs, so privacy + chain abstraction is now just matching the experience they are used to, but opening up opportunity to the whole onchain economy.

NEAR is the capital of capital.
been thinking more on coherent messaging re: NEAR
let's ideate from first principles:
- the product of capitalism is markets
- capitalism -> markets -> competition -> specialization -> fragmentation
- within the specializations, there will be dominant leaders in each category
- SoV: gold, zec, btc
- trading: solana, hyperliquid, robinhood, binance
- currencies: usd, eur, gbp
- and on it goes: ai inference, private compute, real estate, international stocks, metals, e-commerce yada yada
- this requires connective tissue, which has been traditionally served via something like binance
- but one centralized company can not serve this need for infinite markets. there are too many handicaps, lack of network effects, and singular points of risk and stoppage. this is a rare case of decentralization being necessary. neutrality is non-negotiable for unstoppable global trade.
- now, you may see where I'm going and say: well Ethereum and Cosmos already tried this. but that's wrong. what they tried to do was structurally flawed
- those models required the succeeding nodes (L2s and L3s) to be from within the ecosystem, but that is incoherent since i) you can't force success, ii) if one were to succeed, they would just want to own the platform
- the other model is of course the Solana/Hyperliquid model of having everything concentrated on the L1. this model works. however this requires a high-degree of specialization to be competitive. you won't out nasdaq solana.
- but, NEAR does not need to do this. where there is concentration, there is also the need for connection.
- especially with their chain signature architecture, instead of forcing new internal nodes, they can just discover the successful ones and connect them to each other without ideology (see: NEAR intents supporting ZEC but also ZEC on Solana!)
- importantly, this is PvE and not zero sum. the more markets succeed, the more interesting NEAR becomes, i.e if Solana is one continent, and AI another, and Zcash another, then NEAR is the silk road.
so I think the coherent message for NEAR is:
the market of markets — the capital of capital
