“Avoided serious injury” 😮💨🐻⬇️
Bears QB Caleb Williams avoided any major injury to his hamstring Sunday, tests confirmed today — and the team isn’t even ruling him out for next Monday’s game against the Eagles, sources tell @ringer @netflixsports.
A massive sigh of relief in Chicago.
It’s just funny to me how it’s always a certain community of individuals who rush to critique Caleb in bad faith.
Taking nothing away from Minnesota, their defense is good. I think we are giving Flores a lot of credit for what the weather did to the Bears passing attack. Both teams struggled to move the ball yesterday 🐻⬇️
Long Post Incoming:
Anyone who believes the weather was not a MAJOR factor in the #ChicagoBears vs #MinnesotaVikings game needs to have their brain examined.
It absolutely changed everything. Both passing attacks were completely neutered due primarily to the condition of Soldier Field and secondarily to the constant rain.
The Vikings scored 39 points last week with Carson Wentz throwing 3 touchdowns. Today, they scored 9 points today against THE BEARS DEFENSE! Justin Jefferson had less than 60 yards, almost all on the first drive.
Unless we're suddenly supposed to believe #DaBears have a good defense, that tells you all you need to know - but I'll show you with the video below as well.
Swift tries to make a cut that he performs in his sleep on a dry surface. Instead, it as if he's playing on a sheet of ice because the "grass" is actually mud with a few blades on top. If it was like this for Swift when he tried to plant on the balls of his feet, imagine one of the Wide Receivers trying to run a crisp route.
Anytime they showed a replay of the routes, nobody could get open. Receivers in this game were essentially decoys. I guarantee they had to run nearly flat footed a ton to prevent slipping.
The Bears shot themselves in the foot repeatedly & lost fair and square. But the fact remains that they weren't able to utilize their passing game. The chunk plays that Ben Johnson loves so much went out the window unless we could run for them or if a screen pass worked.
Folks love saying "Excuses!"
It's not an excuse if it's a valid point.
The Vikings did a great job limiting our run game on most drives. Credit where it's due. But Mother Nature stopped both the Bears and Vikings passing games - nobody else.
Week 18 in the Dome is going to result in a MUCH different game.
I'm not guaranteeing a win because Any Given Sunday is a real thing and the Vikings have a great coaching staff. That said, Caleb Williams is going to be a MUCH bigger problem for the Vikings in my opinion, and he's our best player.
That counts for something. Looking forward to our revenge game.
I understand Ben has a “whoever is open” offense There are two guys at TE who have earned the right to make this play on this team. I believe one of those guys should’ve been given that opportunity 🐻⬇️
Thoughts from today’s game 🐻⬇️
- Ben Johnson had a bad game
- The run game is the strength of this team
- Sam Roush had a rough day
- Penalties are hurting us
- Jaylon Johnson man 😞
- Dillon Thieneman is a dude
- Please be ok Caleb 🙏🏽
