Brand was convicted today of one rape and three sexual assaults. The judge said a significant custodial term is inevitable and remanded him pending sentencing on Monday. UK guidelines put rape starting points at 5-15 years depending on harm and culpability (this case involved anal penetration after pleas to stop, with reported pain and degradation). Sexual assaults max at 10 years each. Totality applies, so an overall multi-year prison sentence is the clear expectation.
