The Florida Department of Education is aware of a data breach incident involving unauthorized criminal access to Department information. Upon identifying the threat, the Department immediately activated its cybersecurity response protocols and took swift, decisive action to stop the unauthorized activity, contain the incident, and secure its systems.  In addition to providing the required notice of the security breach to the Office of the Attorney General pursuant to section 501.171, F.S., FLDOE is partnering with the Florida Digital Service and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in its response to the event.  The Department remains committed to transparency and will provide additional information as verified details become available.  More information can be found at fldoe.org/databreach

BREAKING: Hegseth fires the Pentagon's chief planner, Army Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia, from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, per The Atlantic. Defense officials said the main reason for the firing was that he clashed repeatedly with Elbridge Colby, the Pentagon's top civilian for policy, causing Hegseth to lose confidence in Sylvia. Colby is the official who said in August the US is reviewing the strategy for the specific and potential use of nuclear weapons. He is at least the 5th general pushed out this year, each holding a key position.
