Can’t believe I have made the decision to apply for child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship. Never in a million years would I think my journey would lead here but also God has shown me that I have been happiest in places I never considered.

When you are waiting to precept and here your colleague giving a long monologue about their patient including the pets name.

Lately I have found outpatient #psychiatry to be very hard. It’s emotionally draining, feeling like I am banging my head against a wall, patients who unable to come to follow up appointments and are frustrated that can’t be rescheduled immediately. Smh.

I had such great plans on my day off including workout, working on scholarly projects and meditation. When my alarm went off I said fuck it. I’m pregnant and everyone says I should sleep as much as possible. Well I hoped sleep helps today when I have a long virtual retreat 😔

IDK what it says when a psychiatrist has to google “examples of values” But I want to live a life with more intention and being grounded in my decisions. So we with start with the google. Dang learning psychotherapy has already influenced me and we are barely a month in.
