To make this, all you need to do is shake all the ingredients with ice and strain into a glass. If you are using dry ice for the smoking effect, drop a small amount in just before serving.

You don’t need a long list of ingredients to make a great rum serve.  Lost Dock Spiced Rum, plenty of ice, ginger beer and a squeeze of fresh lime. Simple to make and even easier to enjoy.  Save this one for your next pour.

A common misconception that we hear a lot is that the colour of the rum determines how strong the rum is.  It’s easy to assume that the darker the rum, the higher the alcohol content, but that isn’t necessarily true.

The colour of rum can be influenced by several factors, including time spent in wooden barrels and, in some cases, added caramel colouring. White rum can also be aged in barrels before being filtered to remove much of the colour.

So, when it comes to rum, darker doesn’t always mean stronger.
