🎄 Fortnum & Mason has unveiled its 2026 Christmas window display at its Piccadilly store in central London, inspired by festive traditions at home.
The seven windows feature rooms decorated for Christmas, with a fairy illuminating trees, garlands and candles with her wand.
The luxury department store's famous mice also return, with miniature scenes in which they are playing chess with dried fruit and pulling Christmas crackers.
Inside, the various floors have been decorated in a gold and champagne theme. The store is operating extended Christmas shopping hours from November.

If the world is getting a little too much may I recommend the inexplicably obsolete word ‘latibulating’, from the 17th century? To latibulate is to find a cosy corner somewhere and hide in it.

Patrick Stewart was once filmed dancing and singing on the bridge of the USS Enterprise-D in 1991 as a birthday surprise for Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. Though never intended for public release, a copy of the clip eventually surfaced as a bonus feature on a DVD.
Rest in peace 🙏
Truly sad news 😔 I grew up watching him in Star Trek.

The history of York is the history of England ~ King George VI, 1923 🏴
He wasn't exaggerating. Romans, Vikings, Saxons and Normans have all left their mark here. The city's been a Roman capital, a Viking stronghold and the site of battles that shaped the fate of the whole nation.
Nearly 2,000 years of history, layered street upon street and still standing today 💪 – at York, England
No heating in the building at clinic today so the next best thing is a hot mug of coffee and gloves between seeing patients! 🥶🥶
Definitely one of the worst from today #StormBoelo

WATCH: This is the moment Jet2 Boeing 737-800 (G-JZHE), operating flight EXS4FX from Venice, veered off the runway at Birmingham Airport.
Looking closely, it appears the aircraft was heading off the runway for some time before correcting, but it was too late.

What an incredible moment.
For 35 years, Asif Hasan has given children the chance to grow up, and families the chance to make memories they might otherwise never have had.
Seeing him surrounded by those whose lives he has changed says it all.
Thank you, Asif, for everything you've done. You represent the very best of our NHS.

Finishing touches ahead of this evening’s State Banquet… ✨
Tonight, The King and Queen will host a State Banquet for the Sultan of Oman at Windsor Castle.
☕️ Inspired by the Omani ritual of Kahwa, a collection of special teas will be served.
While Kahwa is traditionally a spiced coffee, the concept has been adapted to draw on the long-standing British love of tea while preserving the aromatic spices and flavours that make Kahwa so distinctive: fragrant cardamom, delicate rose, sweet dates, and gentle warming spices.
Guests will be invited to choose from an Iced Earl Grey & Date, an Iced Mint & Rose, or a Warm Cardamom-Spiced Blend sweetened with Windsor Honey.
Together, they reflect the warmth and hospitality shared by both Omani and British traditions. 🇬🇧🇴🇲
