This beautiful 51-year-old patient is a great example of how the post-operative experience following a facelift can be much more comfortable than many people expect. We documented her post operative course 18 hours after surgery and at 5 weeks. As you can clearly see, her postoperative experience was not unpleasant. She had almost no bruising just 18 hours after surgery, and as she shared, she was already out with her friends one week later. Facelift results depend on using the right technique which needs to be properly executed. That combination will deliver the desired results while making the post-operative experience more pleasant for the patient and the surgeon. #bestplasticsurgeonsinamerica @newsweek #facelift #facialrejuvenation #experiencemakesadifference #lovewhatido

I am honored to be named again among Newsweek's America's Best Plastic Surgeons 2026 in #facelift, #eyelid surgery, and #rhinoplasty. This recognition comes from peers, many of whom I have had the privilege to train alongside or teach. That means more to me than any title. I am grateful to my patients, who trusted me with their faces and their stories, and to my team. After all these years, the principles have not changed: respect the anatomy, respect the patient, keep learning. Now, back to the OR! #newsweek #bestplasticsurgeonsinamerica #experiencemakesadifference #lovewhatido

This October, I am heading to Cancún for the ISAPS World Congress 2026 and I am genuinely looking forward to it! The congress runs October 27–31 at the Cancún Center and this edition carries the theme “Connecting Cultures, Sharing Knowledge and Leading the Future in Aesthetics” — which, having attended more of these than I can easily count, feels like an honest description of what actually happens there. It is not just lecture halls and slide decks. It is masterclasses, keynotes and candid panel debates. I will be giving a talk on Closed Rhinoplasty Tip and Profile Finesse, a technique I have refined over many years of practice including long-term results from 50 years of experience. I will also be presenting Seven Facelift Techniques: Which Technique for Which Patient, a subject I care about deeply, because matching the right technique to the right patient is where real judgment and experience show. In addition, I will be presenting three “live videos in the OR”: ▪️Facelifting Following Injectables, Radiofrequency, Ultrasound – What to Do? ▪️Facelifting Following Smasectomy – What to Do? What to Expect? ▪️Clinical Presentation and Anatomical Anatomy Are Not the Same – What to Do? I will be moderating panels on “Intraoperative Video Presentation: Face and Neck” and “Beyond the SMAS: The Modern Facelift” — always a privilege, sitting among colleagues and steering a genuine exchange of ideas. Beyond my own sessions, I am looking forward to reconnecting with surgeons from around the world — over 200 faculty members and more than 800 talks from 72 countries. There are few gatherings where you learn as much simply by being in the room. If you will be in Cancún this October, I will be glad to see you — at one of my sessions or just to say hello. 📍 Cancún, Mexico | October 27–31, 2026 #isaps #isapsworldcongress #lovewhatido #experiencemakesadifference

This patient’s visit to my office was really a special moment for me. Twenty-two years ago, I performed a facelift for this lovely lady who is now very youthful at 92 years of age. She came to see me to (1) Show me how great she looks and (2) Tell me how meaningful her facelift has been in her life for over the past two plus decades. A facelift is not meant to freeze one in time but to reset the clock to ones prior more youthful appearance. Aging continues (we all agree I am sure the alternative is not good) but for the remainder of one’s life, regardless of how many years, they look better than if the procedure was never performed. Twenty-two years later at 92 years of age, she is very happy with her appearance and she is obviously enjoying life. That is the result that matters!! And I love that she credits me with being a part of her happiness!! @newsweek #bestplasticsurgeonsamerica #facelift #faceliftsurgeon #experiencemakesadifference #lovewhatido

Aesthetic procedures are life changing for many people. When she was 17 years old, I performed a closed rhinoplasty for this patient. She talks about this event changing her self-confidence and therefore her life – she has had a successful television career. Two months ago, I performed an upper lid blepharoplasty for her and what I love most is not just the changes in her appearance. It is seeing her confidence that comes with it. I love what I do! #lovewhatido #experiencemakesadifference #blepharoplasty #closedrhinoplasty

Started in Malta—a small island with an outsized history, sitting at the crossroads of the Mediterranean between Europe and North Africa, which is exactly why it has mattered strategically for centuries. Had a great visit with our friend, the U.S. Ambassador to Malta while we were there. From Malta, we flew to Naples and then made our way down the Amalfi Coast—Ischia, Capri—before island-hopping through the Aeolians: Panarea, Lipari, Salina, and Stromboli, where we watched one of nature’s most spectacular light shows—an active volcano erupting against the night sky. We ended the journey in Palermo before heading home. Back to work. Back to the OR.

The cute little nose you have as a child can change quite a bit when you become a teenager. During puberty, several things happen: - Growth of the nasal bone - Cartilage continues to mature - Hormonal changes (sex hormones and especially growth hormones) - Facial proportions change This very pretty 17-year-old student now has a nose that elegantly fits her face. Her Closed Rhinoplasty (no visible incisions) that she had this morning will make a meaningful impact on her life going forward. #lovewhatido #closedrhinoplasty #rhinoplasty #nose #nosebyaston

Morning huddle before today’s first case. As we head into the July 4th holiday weekend, we are starting the day the same way we always do - with a quick team check-in to review the surgical plan, align on the details, and make sure everyone is on the same page before we begin. It is a simple routine, but it helps keep every procedure safe, efficient and seamless. Wishing everyone a happy and safe Independence Day weekend while we remain focused on providing the highest level of care for our patients. #lovewhatido #experiencemakesadifference #doctoraston #facebyaston

This morning’s JUNERA treatment. Unlike surface-based energy devices, JUNERA delivers dual-wavelength laser energy directly to the subdermal plane, where collagen remodeling and tissue contraction occur. This technology simultaneously supports skin tightening and contour refinement, making it an excellent option for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity who are seeking rejuvenation without surgery. Results continue to improve over the next several months as new collagen forms. #junera #facialrejuvenation #lovewhatido #doctoraston #facebyaston

WHAT IS JUNERA? 💭 Dual wavelength 980/1470 nm subdermal (under the skin) laser and less invasive than a surgical procedure. What does it do? ✔️ Contours, lifts, tightens the skin and stimulates new collagen regeneration. ✔️ No incision, no stitches ✔️ Standalone procedure or when indicated, combined with surgery. Anesthesia: ✔️ Local for most patients ✔️ Sedation when desired Who is a candidate? ✔️ Early aging changes but surgery not needed ✔️ Prior surgery, aging continues, rejuvenation without surgery ✔️ Aging changes but does not want surgery Questions about Junera? Come see me! #junera #lovewhatido #facialrejuvenation

𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐀™ Subdermal bimodal laser energy delivered 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 the skin promoting collagen contraction, neocollagenesis and contouring. We are using it as standalone procedure under local anesthesia, providing a minimally invasive option for skin tightening and contour refinement. This technology is setting a new standard for minimally invasive tissue remodeling. Our focus last week was on the face, jawline and neck using Junera’s 980nm and 1470nm wavelengths to simultaneously contour unwanted fat, tighten the skin and stimulate longterm collagen production. And when appropriate, blending this technology with surgery has a potential for enhancing aesthetic results! #junera #lovewhatido #experiencemakesadifference

Facelift results depend on performing the correct surgical techniques for each patient - the surgeon’s ability to execute the technique based on his experience, judgement and aesthetic sense of what looks elegant! #experiencemakesadifference #lovewhatido #facelift

A beautiful 21 year old, now college senior returned for her 3 weeks post operative visit following a Closed Rhinoplasty and handed me this emotionally generated and beautifully written card. As one can appreciate when reading this card, a rhinoplasty is a life changing procedure. It changes how one sees themself in the world and how to world sees them. And, this continues for the remainder of the individual’s life!!! #lovewhatido #experiencemakesadifference #nosebyaston

Just getting a chance to share these pictures after returning from last week’s Aesthetic Meet in Boston and heading straight back to a full schedule in the operating room. Some highlights from a truly exceptional symposium shared here. Leading the discussion on how to make an aesthetically beautiful neck safely. Great educational presentations! Take home message – there is no one procedure that is best for every patient. A judge at the Global Rumble along with President of the Aesthetic Society Dr. Tracy Pfeifer (@drtracypfeifer) and Dr. Arturo Ramirez-Montañana (@eldocarturo.cirujanoplastico) President of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, during seven colleagues from various countries competing for the best aesthetic result. Coffee break in the Exhibit Hall with Dr. Jennifer Walden (@drjenniferwalden), first female President of the Aesthetic Society, Dr. Douglas Steinbrech (@maleplasticsurgery), Secretary-Treasurer of the Aesthetic Society (I published a textbook with them) and the about to be new President of the Aesthetic Society, Dr. Jamil Ahmad (@drjahmad). A past President (SJA) with our new Aesthetic Society President, Dr. Jamil Ahmad at The Past Presidents Luncheon on Sunday. At the Junera exhibit with CMO Dr. Jennifer Waldem and CEO of @onyxamed Travis Mahan (@travis.onyxa). Junera makes its official launch! This innovative subdermal dual plane wavelength laser is a great minimally invasive technology for face and body contouring and skin tightening. Five great days of education in Boston!! #lovewhatido #experiencemakesadifference #aestheticmeet2026
