Legal Right, Not a Favor — Justice Is a Duty, Not a Relief (Concerns Regarding Negligence related to Imran Khan's Health)
I have reviewed the whole medical notes, the testing ordered and the medications prescribed. Three instances of "Criminal Negligence" can be noted just from these two reports:
1. No CT Coronary Angio Done:
Imran khan was seen on Aug 1, 2026 by Cardiologist Dr Akhtar Ali Bandesh who recommended increasing BP medications and cardiac work up including
CT Coronary angiography.
Next visit was Aug 8, 2026 a week later. No CT coronary angiography was done. If the recommendations of a cardiologist who has expressed concern about possible coronary ischemia are not acted upon, then what purpose does the medical board serve? Presenting an appearance of comprehensive medical care to the public while failing to follow through on critical specialist recommendations raises serious questions about the genuineness and adequacy of that care.
At an age of 73, if a cardiology is recommending evaluation of coronaries, and is worried about increased BP, then ignoring his recommendations is "Criminal NEGLIGENCE" nothing else.
2. No Holter Monitoring was done:
Imran Khan has been complaining of heart palpitations at a heart rate of 54. This needs work up for atrial fibrillation and rhythm disorder by 24 Holter monitor or Telemetry, and that can be a sign of underlying cardiac ischemia for which the cardiologist recommended "CT coronary angiography" on Aug1. But no Holter monitoring was done so far.
3. Empirical use of Anti Depressants:
He has been on Citanew (Escitalopram- anti depressant) and Laxotonil (anti anxiety). These are psychiatric medications and have been prescribed empirically without any psychiatric evaluation. (There is no psychiatry doctor in the panel). These meds can suppress the perception of palpitations, for which a cardiology evaluation has not been completed and cardiac ischemia / rhythm disorder has not been ruled out.
Moreover, there is no mention of his ongoing eye problem in the reports shared. There might be more reports that are not shared here.
But from what has been shared, serious concerns and negligence can be inferred. Transferring him to Shifa hospital for complete cardiac work up is not a "Relief". It is his basic fundamental medical and legal right that should have been allowed long ago.
I work in a state university hospital in Ohio where we take care of many prisoners. I can tell you the an ordinary state prisoner gets more medical protocol and diligence than what was given to the former Prime Minister of Pakistan. A person making the biggest cancer care system in Pakistan at least deserves basic medical work up.
Remember !
it is his Legal Right, Not a Favor.
And as for the courts, Justice Is a Duty, Not a Relief
May he get well soon ! amen

United Nations’ Committee Against Torture has made observations in their report issued today that the Committee is particularly concerned about the situation of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, whose arbitrary detention was confirmed by the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, and Bushra Bibi, especially with regard to their access to medical care.
We demand military-led Govt of Pakistan to immediately grant family and personal doctors access to former PM Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.

BREAKING: After FJP presented cases of civilians tried in military courts to the UN Committee Against Torture, the UN committee concludes that Pakistan should review the Army Act of 1952, bar military courts from trying civilians, and prosecute military personnel for torture.

During its 84th Session, the United Nations Committee Against Torture initiated a formal review of Pakistan’s human rights compliance, specifically scrutinizing the detention of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Thank you to the UN Committee Against Torture for raising concerns regarding solitary confinement in the case of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. We respectfully hope the Committee’s final recommendations will call for the immediate end of solitary confinement, urgent access to personal doctors and independent hospital care, full access to personal lawyers and family, and the immediate release of Imran Khan.
The same protections and urgent relief should apply to his wife Bushra Bibi, who has also suffered vision loss in one eye following medical neglect during solitary confinement.
Imran Khan has already been found arbitrarily detained by the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, which called for his immediate release and compensation. Amnesty International has also called for his release. He has already lost 85% of vision in one eye amid prolonged denial of independent medical care.
Prolonged solitary confinement, denial of independent medical care, blocked access to lawyers and family, and deterioration of his eyesight engages obligations under the Convention Against Torture, ICCPR, and the Mandela Rules. UN Special Rapporteur on Torture Alice Jill Edwards has also publicly noted concerns after writing to the Government of Pakistan without reply.
UN recommendations can save lives.

Yesterday, the family was suddenly asked to come meet Bushra Imran at 9am today, with no explanation. However, I had already been hearing from reliable sources that she was unwell and might require surgery.
When the family met her this morning, they realized she was being brought back from the hospital — she had undergone surgery overnight.
For days, she had been in severe pain and had even lost vision in one eye. Yet, a doctor was only called a day before. When finally examined, doctors raised urgent alarm: she had already suffered complete vision loss due to retinal detachment and needed immediate surgery.
She has now gone through a major eye operation.
A couple of weeks ago, I had shared doctors’ warnings from her jail medical reports — that she urgently needed laser treatment or risk retinal detachment. But for the past two months, family visits were blocked, leaving us with no updates on her condition.
This surgery requires continuous care and close monitoring by specialists. So why was she brought back to jail — to be left alone in an insect-infested cell? How is she supposed to avoid infection in such conditions?
Just imagine, for a moment, the pain we feel when even something minor gets into our eye. She has undergone major eye surgery… and now she is alone, without care or support.
It is truly heartbreaking.

Imran Khan's wife is also now going blind, being held in solitary confinement by the Military Regime in Pakistan.
URGENT INTERNATIONAL INTERVENTION IS REQUIRED.
"- A neutral international medical commission to conduct a full toxicology screen and ocular exam to rule out poisoning and chemical suppression.
- Immediate cessation of the 22+ hour solitary confinement that is physically destroying their sensory health.
- Transfer both individuals to a specialized facility with access to their personal physicians to ensure transparent and adequate treatment."

URGENT ALERT: Visual Impairment of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi
We are raising an alarm regarding a harrowing pattern of vision loss affecting former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, while in state custody.
Verified reports confirm that former Prime Minister Imran Khan has lost 85% of his vision in his right eye due to a retinal vein occlusion and blood clot that went untreated for months.
A medical report from March 28, 2026, confirms his wife is now suffering from Posterior Vitreous Detachment (PVD) and Ocular Hypertension.
Both individuals, previously healthy, are experiencing identical symptoms. This points to a shared environment of physical and psychological oppression.
Solitary confinement and sensory deprivation directly deteriorate long-distance sight. Furthermore, the sustained high eye pressure reported in both cases risks secondary retinal occlusion, which leads to permanent, irreversible blindness.
Given the deteriorating health and symptoms, there is an immediate need for:
- A neutral international medical commission to conduct a full toxicology screen and ocular exam to rule out poisoning and chemical suppression.
- Immediate cessation of the 22+ hour solitary confinement that is physically destroying their sensory health.
- Transfer both individuals to a specialized facility with access to their personal physicians to ensure transparent and adequate treatment.
The loss of sight in state custody is not an accident or even an isolated incident; it is a human rights violation. The international community must act before this damage becomes permanent.
