Breaking and very sad news -- Sen. Chris Murphy is hospitalized following a stroke, an aide to the Connecticut Democrat confirmed Sunday. His staff began notifying people Saturday afternoon of the hospitalization and stroke, a person told POLITICO at the time. “Yesterday afternoon, Senator Murphy started experiencing numbness in his arm while at his son’s hockey game. He was taken to a local hospital, where it was discovered he had experienced a stroke,” Allison Herwitt, Murphy’s chief of staff, said in a statement. “He was transferred to Johns Hopkins for further monitoring and is responding well to treatment. The doctors are encouraged by his progress, he is awake and alert, and we are optimistic he will make a full recovery,” she added. Murphy, who is viewed as a potential 2028 White House candidate, has been traveling the country to campaign for candidates, including recent stops in Michigan, Minnesota and Florida. He had been previously scheduled to attend campaign events in New Hampshire on Sunday. more w/ @jordainc politico.com/news/2026/11/01…

SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. Satellite imagery this afternoon shows the snow in the Adirondacks and Greens, though lingering clouds make it tougher to spot in the Whites

Almost two years of Trump II & Congress hasn’t learned yet? “The legislation, which was set to take effect on Oct. 18, won bipartisan support despite concern that the president would not heed the sanctions requirements, and that he would potentially misuse the tariff authority.”

Isaias is a good reminder of how quickly things can turn during the hurricane season. This was the blank 7-day @NWSNHC outlook last Saturday. Tonight we had a landfalling Category 2 hurricane. Always be ready, especially for the curveballs of October.

This.
I oppose the death penalty, but I didn't always feel that way. I understand the people who support it - because I once was one of them. But either way, the death penalty staged as a public spectacle is an abomination and stains us all.

Honestly, I’d probably pay for that… 🤣
I need @cspan to do a red zone for all the debates happening simultaneously

This has to be one of the best photos I've ever received here at @NBCConnecticut. Betsy in Cheshire shared this with me. That's not a full moon....that's "earthshine" illuminating the moon. The moons of Jupiter are the small objects!!

Truly one of the best things I’ve ever seen. It’s almost criminal how much this video fails to do what I saw justice. #fall #foliage

Yeah, the foliage in the Adirondacks is spectacular this year. The pictures don’t even do it justice.

Because of the bipartisan work being done in our community, East Hartford is building much needed housing across the board —not just apartments, but single family homes & more. We are also working to improve the quality of our current aging housing stock. One step at a time.
A new chapter for East Hartford’s riverfront. 🏙️ With support from Connecticut’s Community Investment Fund, the underused office tower at 111 Founders Plaza is set to become approximately 250 apartments. It’s part of a larger vision to bring more housing, businesses and activity to the riverfront.

Since the nor’easter started, we’ve restored power to more than 120,000 of our customers and cleared over 260 blocked roads.
