I was not expecting Ronnie Stanley’s pay cut/restructure to open up nearly $10M on the cap.
• That’s more cap savings than if he was cut pre-June 1
• It’s a serious pay cut of HALF the cash he was expecting this year
• He can earn it back (and then some) with incentives, and if he does, that’s a win for everyone
• On top of it all, he’s now a free agent after this season, instead of after 2025. Wow.
• The downside for the Ravens is his dead money for 2025 will go up by $1.5M if not signed to an extension, but that seems well worth the $10M it opened up this year.
Bottom line, this is a major, major year for Ronnie Stanley. Not only to recoup some of the money from this sizable pay cut, but for his future career in 2025 and beyond.
