I love the working in the MIAA. ESU football has a bye this week so I was at home when I got a call from @colinmcdonough. Turns out the NWMSU media crew was stopping in Emporia on their way to UCO for their game in Edmond tonight. So I joined them for lunch.

Sometimes my job lets me be a small part of some cool things. (Even if tonight involved getting nailed in the thigh with a ball by a college soccer player)

But the Chiefs get all the calls.

Other than a win over a top 20 team the best part of a 1 pm kickoff for the home opener? Leaving the stadium after 11 hours and it was still light out.

Watching actual TV sportscasts might be old fashioned but I still get a thrill seeing Emporia State sports on multiple stations during the 10 o’clock news, especially when it involves video we shot.

Other than being stuck in an elevator for 20 minutes that was a fun Friday night.

Normally when we get home at this time I make some smart alec remark about the glamour of college athletics. Today I’m going to appreciate being at a school that allows us to leave at 11:30 am on Wednesday, travel 900+ miles and be home 41 hours later.

I love that everyone has their own way of getting ready for a broadcast.

Tonight I went on a 3 mile walk, Emma was walking on the Great Wall of China while Jack was at Traditions Night at the Booth after starting the day with his final day of KU ROTC orientation in front of Allen Fieldhouse. I walked by a Walgreens. I might be a little jealous.

Day four training camp walk out. First afternoon practice. Second practice in shoulder pads. These may be the real heroes of the day. @ESU_ATProgram #StingersUp #UNIT
