The proposed Ottawa UTME centre is primarily about access. JAMB already conducts the UTME in several countries to make the examination accessible to eligible Nigerians living abroad, and the proposed centre would extend that access to North America.
There is also no expenditure on establishing the proposed centre at this stage. The arrangement being explored is through the Nigerian High Commission, using temporary facilities within its premises rather than establishing a permanent JAMB office.
