Trump clearly sold out Taiwan.
When asked on Air Force One on the way back from China whether the U.S. would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion, Trump replied: “I don’t want to say. That question was asked to me today by President Xi. I said, ‘I don’t talk about it.’”
Trump also said, “On Taiwan, President Xi feels very strongly about it.”
It’s clear China got the green light to move ahead, especially now that the U.S. is bogged down in the Iran war.
Under Trump, our allies can’t trust us, and our adversaries don’t fear us.
