This guy gives his team hell at halftime of CFB27 games. #Athlete
im a badass because i watch the game differently? because i wana hold players accountable? if you want rah - rah takes UK sports.. locked on is the perfect spot.
not interested in it myself... but dont tell ppl how to watch and criticize players or teams like these are 12 year old learning the game of basketball. these are grown ass men being paid like professionals.
Almost all of the negativity surrounding Kentucky basketball currently can be traced back to… a radio cohost taking personal shots at a college kid in the middle of a pandemic, and we’ve never recovered for it
People complain about Pope’s recruiting when his pitch has to be this….
“Look kid we think you’re extremely talented and would love to have you. How do you feel about people calling for you to be publicly executed?”
(Over a fake game btw)
Hawthorne was brought in to stop Johnson last night down the stretch and he did.. was just said you can’t bring him in because he can’t play defense tho…. Unreal 😂
#They told me he sucks tho
BBN really has something in Braydon Hawthorne.
Long, fluid, versatile. The kind of athlete whose arms seem to cover half the floor defensively, with the ability to stretch the floor on the other end.
With a redshirt year of learning under his belt, the foundation is there. And the two-way upside is tantalizing.
THEN STOP WATCHING
No one is begging for any of y’all to be around and negative all year. Genuinely no one. If it’s so dire in your mind that you can’t fathom even watching or keeping up with the team you supposedly “support” then don’t….
This place is miserable
I have watched Kentucky basketball religiously for over 40 years. So I say this with sadness - I have never been more disinterested in a season than this one. Mark Pope is not it. He's just a nicer Billy Gillespie. Passing through as a bad MB hire. Sigh. Go Cats.
#BBN
At this point… anyone telling you the fanbase (a lot, not everyone) and media around this place isn’t the issue…
Are probably part of the problem
Stein has this man in hell
“Now that you’re halfway through your first season, your expectations about the job and reality, are they syncing up? Is it everything you thought it would be?” -Brandon Walker
“Yeah and even more. Unlike that Kentucky game where every day it haunts me… I’ve never thought twice about this decision” -Lane Kiffin
The foundation 🔥
This ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Just because Will Stein is awesome, doesn't mean we need to dump on Mark Stoops.
So many great moments came from his tenure, and he is the program's all-time winningest coach, after all.

Before yall buy into the Honor Huff rumors KSR will start soon… we don’t need that dude throwing off our insane “avg height” graphic they’ll be showing in the final 4
Could anyone just be realistic? Is it that hard?
“The head coach of Kentucky basketball hasn’t lived up to program expectations on a basic level. However, the volume of injuries would have made it impossible for anyone to reach those expectations. We need more time”
Isn’t hard
Covering UK basketball right now kinda feels like a lose/lose situation for media.
If you praise Pope or the team. The haters come for you.
If you call out Pope or the team. The sunshine pumpers come for you.
It’s truly unfortunate and makes covering the team difficult. The truth is, both praise and criticism can and probably should happen over the course of the season.
Winning cures everything. Anything else will work itself out over the course of the season. Go Cats!
Mark Pope is the only coach in America that doesn’t get the benefit of context. Own fanbase not willing to be reasonable. No wonder nobody wants to coach here.
