The autumn solstice marks the changing season. As plants prepare for winter by transferring moisture and energy, leaves and plants turn brown and die back, creating flammable dry debris. Remember fire safety as fire danger remains.
Fire Season will begin in the Douglas District on Friday, June 9, 2023 @ 12:01 am. Public and Industrial Regulations will be in effect.
Visit dfpa.net for more information.
We would like to thank our community for their support and cooperation during the 2022 Fire Season.
Please continue to be fire safe and fire-wise!
Burn permits from DFPA are FREE of charge but require an ON-SITE INSPECTION by a DFPA Forest Officer.
All requirements must be met before a permit will be issued. For detailed info, visit dfpa.net.
