Some buzz news of an Iran-US ceasefire with Russia & China as guarantors feels like smoke & mirrors
Iran is smartly biding its time until Nov 3rd—knowing a weakened Trump changes the board
The deal was set months ago; it’s Trump who kept moving the goalposts
Peace depends on him reining in his ego, not Iran

I just came across an RFP to establish a shipbreaking yard inside @QasimPort navigation channel.
Let me explain in the simplest possible terms what this means.
Setting up a ship breaking yard inside an energy hub and commercial port like PQA, is similar to allowing a junkyard (Kabaari market) dealing in old rusted parts, scrap and sludge, to set up shop inside the city's most prestigious luxury shopping mall surrounded by civic amenities.
That's how absurd this proposal is!
PQA is our energy hub.
Ships coming to the ship breaking yard are either towed or limping on last leg going to their graveyard.
No one allows such old ships to enter busy narrow navigation channels risking closure of the country's economic lifeline.
I will write a detailed note later today explaining why I believe this plan is a recipe for disaster.

🇵🇰 Pakistan just sentenced 2 human rights lawyers to 10 YEARS in prison each... over security barriers on a cricket team's route.
Imaan Mazari-Hazir and her husband, Hadi Ali Chattha, were convicted by an ANTI-TERRORISM court of removing the barriers and inciting unrest in 2024. Both deny it and call it payback for their human rights work.
And it's the second time this year.
In January, they got 17 YEARS OVER SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS, a ruling slammed by lawyers and UN experts.
In September, the Supreme Court suspended those sentences and ordered their release. Police re-arrested them within HOURS.
This time, their trial was held inside a prison, where Mazari says they were kept in a cage and could barely communicate with their lawyers.
Freed by the Supreme Court, rearrested the same day, and now another decade behind bars.
In Pakistan, defending human rights is apparently the fastest way to lose your own.

This is beyond absurd. Perhaps the military-backed government wants to paint a rosy picture of Pakistan while nearly 70 million Pakistanis live in poverty and 25 million children are out of school. Income inequality is out of control, much of the economy goes undocumented, and the World Inequality Report 2026 gives Pakistan a data transparency score of just 1/20. So where does this confidence in such precise income figures come from?

Sham/secret trial delivers a sham sentence. Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha, two human rights lawyers, sentenced to 10 years in prison over road barriers they maintain they never removed. First, their tweets; now, this. Criminalising dissent and persecuting lawyers is an assault on fundamental rights and constitutional freedoms. This sentence is outrageous and unlawful.

Netanyahu Lost. His Coalition Lost.
Going from 36 to 26 is not a victory; and for his coalition from 68 to 53 is a defeat.
Don't be fooled by claims that Netanyahu's Likud emerged as the largest party. The real story of the Zionist Regime's election is in the numbers.
Netanyahu's Likud, including his merger with Gideon Sa’ar's New Hope, fell from 36 to 26 seats, a staggering 28% loss.
Netanyahu's right-wing and religious bloc fell from 68 to 53 seats, a loss of 15 seats, or 22%. It is now eight seats short of the 61 needed to govern.
The losers could hardly be clearer.
Netanyahu portrayed himself as the indispensable leader of the Zionist regime. Trump boasted that his support had saved Netanyahu. Yet Netanyahu lost a quarter of his parliamentary strength, while his political bloc lost more than one-fifth of its seats.
The bottom line: Netanyahu and his coalition were decisively defeated at the ballot box. Whether his opponents can translate that defeat into an alternative government is another question entirely.
Being the largest party does not mean winning the election. Losing your parliamentary majority is a defeat, regardless of how you spin it.
Netanyahu is a war criminal and can never be rehabilitated.

No one has seen or heard from my father since August, when he explicitly said that he was being tortured and that the regime was trying to kill him like Egypt’s government did Morsi. The UN Special Rapporteur on torture has repeatedly stated that his treatment amounts to torture. Pakistan’s fascist regime, led by military dictator Asim Munir, continue to ignore the Supreme Court order from August for my father to be assessed and treated at the private Shifa International Hospital, as well as for regular access to family visits and access to his lawyers. It is clear that they are trying to kill him as he is by far the most popular political figure in the country, and they fear him. If the worst happens, no one should make any mistake who is responsible. It is Asim Munir with the approval of the illegitimate Pakistani government. Every government that continues to legitimise this regime will be complicit in this and the resulting chaos and destabilisation it causes in the region. No state that is engaging in friendly relations with this fascist Pakistani regime can truly claim to uphold the values of democracy or human rights.

This is bizarre bec I was present in the jail trial today & judge gave Thursday as the date for Imaan & Hadi to make their final arguments. So how can judgement be reserved when trial hasn’t finished? But then we are used to these sham trials & total lack of due process bec justice is only for @CMShehbaz’s daughter & son in law it seems! For Imaan & Hadi it’s only abt vengeance never abt justice. Shameful. @AzamNazeerTarar

A marathon meeting of the @PTIofficial Parliamentary Party was held yesterday. It was quite exhaustive as nearly all important issues concerning the release & access to @ImranKhanPTI @SMQureshiPTI & other prisoners including Imran Khan’s family were discussed. Members freely gave their views in a charged but cordial atmosphere.
Future course of action was almost unanimously agreed to be to empower the Parliamentary Party for a better & more effective role to achieve these political goals & to engage in political dialogue to take the country out of the current political crisis.
Parliamentary Party also resolved to have more better working relationship with Core Committee & Political Committee & to strengthen these important committees.
Team Spirit & Unity is the key !
Beware of the fake news factory as well. As there is a deliberate plot to create rifts in the party by our opponents. For example a fake news was generated about my walking out of the meeting which is Fake.
So all that is deliberately circulated against PTI leadership is not always correct.
Most of the time, the social media gossip is mere Heresy & Fake News which has got nothing to do with reality.
We must only focus on the official Statement / Declaration / Communiqué
Issued by PTI instead of some V loggers who only discuss negative things about PTI leadership to get viewership & nothing else.
They are serving none, but their masters.
Dear Insafians !
Our only strength is our unity & our focus must only be on strengthening PTI, reinstatement of our legitimate PTI Government in Pakhtoonkhwa & most importantly getting access to our leader IK & taking him, PTI leadership, workers & IK family out of jail through political dialogue with honour & Dignity. Inshallah

The Israeli exit polls show a clear deadlock:
• Netanyahu bloc: ~50 seats
• Anti-Netanyahu bloc (Eisenkot-led): ~52–53
• Arab parties: 17–18
61 seats are needed to form a government. Neither Jewish bloc has a path on its own
What I foresee: Netanyahu remains caretaker prime minister for the duration of coalition talks (weeks, potentially months)
He will use that window to escalate with Iran—restarting or expanding the conflict—to create a wartime atmosphere, freeze politics, and force the process toward a second election once the hung parliament fails to produce a government
In a rerun, the massive Arab turnout that boosted the anti-Netanyahu side this time is likely to drop. That shift should help Netanyahu’s bloc close the gap or overtake the opposition, pushing him back over/near the threshold

⭕️ Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is sounding an election-day alarm over Palestinian citizens of Israel casting their ballots, warning that "the future of our Jewish state hangs in the balance."
"Higher-than-usual voter turnout in the Arab sector compared to the low turnout of right-wing voters," Netanyahu wrote on X, alongside a far-right Channel 14 graphic showing Arab voters lining up in Sakhnin, in the Galilee, and in the Negev, many of them women in niqabs.
It echoes his 2015 election-day warning that "Arab voters are moving in droves to the polls," for which he later apologized. The post today has been up for more than two hours.
Palestinian citizens make up about a fifth of Israel's population. Last month, Israel's Central Elections Committee voted to ban both main Palestinian parties from the race before the Supreme Court reinstated them. Palestinian turnout could jump from about 50% to 70% in this election, according to The National.
Pakistan's military-owned Margalla Heavy Industries has signed a $2.25 billion deal with an unnamed Chinese battery manufacturer and undisclosed local investors to build a lithium-ion battery plant in Rawalpindi. Even with the building ready and machines already installed, rollout is waiting on the federal cabinet to pass a state battery policy to lock in commercial protections. Battery manufacturing and green tech belong in the civilian sector, not behind opaque military contracts.
How can the military ever stay out of political engineering when it has multi-billion-dollar businesses at stake? Instead of focusing on national defense, it operates as a corporate syndicate that needs state power to pass favorable policies, protect its monopolies, and enrich itself at the expense of private enterprise.
