John turned to God's voice and first saw the seven lampstands [churches], Rev 1:12. For better or for worse, the source of the voice of God for many today is gatherings of believers. For this reason, it's important not only to have a personal testimony, but a corporate testimony.
Still my favorite @Andrewnsnyder post, on Disney's "Sleeping Beauty."
"The feminine and the masculine serve one another and enable the other to be itself more fully." 💞
I’ve resisted the urge to reply to some of the ideological naysayers, so I’ll just provide a general statement that it is still likely to be wildly misconstrued.
Embodying Beauty is no trite affair. It is not the same as simply being pretty and “waiting around for a man.” To be beautiful is to be a conduit of truth and goodness that animates the world around you. This is the archetypal feminine, and this is powerful.
Aurora is literally named for the morning light that awakens the earth. How could anyone possibly think she is docile and powerless? Despite her humiliation from royalty to peasantry, she continues to animate the world around her as the agents of nature join in her harmony. It is this very same internalized harmony that summons forth the prince who embodies true Love. He does not dominate her, but he rather joins in the song that she is already singing.
When Aurora goes dormant, so too does the Kingdom. Yet, the power of Beauty continues to inspire Love with the courage to act in accordance with truth and virtue to defeat evil and, through selfless devotion, awaken Beauty. This is the activity of the archetypal masculine.
The feminine and the masculine serve one another and enable the other to be itself more fully. This is why they knew each other “once upon a dream,” and, in the final scene, they dance together up into the clouds, i.e., they move together back into the realm whence dreams come, which is their proper home. This is something that neither could do without the other.
Ironically, the only time I've ever experienced "gorilla arms" was using an iPad with a pre-touchpad keyboard attachment. Touchpads are still the king, but having the option to touch navigate the screen is super convenient, especially once you start remembering it's an option.
Saying that belief in the rapture produces lazy workers and apathy to the world is like saying that belief in unconditional election produces lazy evangelists and apathy for the lost.
It's possible to use those beliefs as excuses, but doing so would be disobeying the word.
"In that day," says the Lord of hosts, "everyone will invite his neighbor under his vine and under his fig tree."

One day I'm going to open a community space for coffee, pints, reading, and pipe smoking, and this is going to be the name of it.
My wife is more American than a lot of these goofball CN commenters can ever hope to be, and she's made three more proud Americans since she became one. 😎
I have personal experience with this kind of situation. My wife came to the US on a religious worker's visa and served as a commended worker at a Christian Bible school. Her paperwork was being handled pro bono by a Christian lawyer, but he failed to file her paperwork in time, and the visa was revoked. When she found out about, it was too late to renew, and she was told there would be a five-year cool down period before she could apply again. My wife decided to stay in the US with an expired visa rather than leave the ministry for five years. When we married, it took the involvement of another lawyer who definitely was not pro bono, and a raft of paperwork, including letters to the immigration judges and having to find sponsors. In the end, it took nearly three years and cost us almost five thousand in legal and filing fees, but she got her status cleared and was issued her green card. When her green card was set to expire 10 years later, we opted for citizenship instead, and now she doesn't have to worry about it anymore. Also, the immigration lawyer told us that being in country with a lapsed visa doesn't make one an illegal alien, as you came in legally, but it certainly means you've overstayed your welcome.
Update from the Seys:
“My husband Samuel Sey entered the United States legally and has been working ever since in good faith with a lawyer to obtain permanent legal status. Our family is trying to understand what went wrong in the process. In the spirit of Romans 13, our family fully supports and respects American law and are prayerfully working to get him home through the legal process.”
🐿️ Miles has been free for 16 days, but he still comes down for a snack. The scratch on my wife's cheek in this pic she sent today is one of the reasons why squirrels are poor pets. Their claws are very sharp & they don't discern between running up a tree or running up a face. 🤕
One interesting follow up:
A few years later, we had a friend whose Mexican fiancé was in a similar situation. We were able to share all of our paperwork with him, and he duplicated it page for page for her, including copying the letters our lawyer wrote. It saved them all the legal fees and showed them exactly what they needed to file. So our frustrating experience became a blessing to others.
It’s finished! No more shakymobile. Now to finally sit down and relax for a bit.
Got all the major moving parts from the tire to the transmission replaced… only to find out during the test drive that I damaged the seal between the axle and transmission. Now everything I put back together gets to come apart again. 😤
I found a really cool metal song by a band called Wolves at the Gate and I’m going try to do a little animated short with a clip of it and this drawing.
