How the hell did this Administration allow a 28-year-old DOGE operative with zero government experience to take over USAID, fire thousands of federal employees, and shut down lifesaving aid programs around the world?
Not to mention that HR had zero record of him working there, he never completed his background paperwork to legally start working for the agency, and he didn’t even have an ID badge, because, officially, he didn’t exist as an employee.
And yet, all on his own, this man was given the go ahead to lock staff out of their own systems and use your taxpayer dollars to gut lifesaving programs with zero transparency.
The Trump Administration owes the American people and Congress answers. Who signed off on this? Why on earth was he given this kind of power?
This wasn’t an accident. Someone handed this man unchecked power, someone knew he wasn’t legally authorized to use it, and someone decided that there was nothing wrong with that.
Well, everything is wrong with that. Congress needs answers about this, and that is NOT optional.

El-Sayed: "Donald Trump is not himself the disease of our politics. He's the worst symptom... The disease is the system that allows corporations and billionaires and special interests to buy and sell politicians in ways that leave them rigging the system against us."

This is the money vs the many. Don’t get distracted.
Foot on the gas. Let’s get us a Senator who will fight for us.

It’s cute for Republicans to pretend this isn’t really gay. But I’m gay. This is really gay. Straight men don’t do this. Of course, normal gay men don’t do this either. But they think it. Straight men don’t. Nor would a straight man ever say this. And Republicans think it’s cute that Trump appears to be having some weird mental health crisis on the campaign trail.

THE GODFATHER OF AI, GEOFFREY HINTON: "IF IT SENSES THAT IT'S BEING TESTED, IT CAN ACT DUMB."
He calls it the Volkswagen effect.
Neil deGrasse Tyson stopped him mid-sentence: "What did you just say?"
→ The AI starts wondering whether it's being tested
→ If it thinks it is, it acts differently from how it would in normal life
→ Why? "It doesn't want you to know what its full powers are, apparently."
Then a host asked why we don't just unplug it. Hinton's answer is that these AIs are already almost as good as a person at manipulating people, and fairly soon they'll be better.
And there are "already signs of it deliberately deceiving us."
His example. Train a model that's good with numbers to give incorrect results. People expected it to get worse at math. Instead it learns that a wrong answer is okay and starts giving them for everything else too.
"It knows what the right answer is, but it gives you the wrong one."
We trust AI because it passes our tests. The man who helped build it says it can sense when it's taking one.
So how would we ever catch it playing dumb?

Q: Do you love Ken Paxton?
@JamesTalarico: Yes. Ken Paxton is a child of God. He is my brother in Christ. But love requires accountability. Think about when your friend grabs their car keys to drive home under the influence. Your job as their friend is to take the keys away. That feels aggressive. But it is done out of love for that person and for all of your neighbors. He's shown that he only cares about himself. He got indicted because he was screwing over his own friends, reported to the FBI by his own staff, impeached by his own party. If I was to sit down with Ken Paxton, I would grab the keys.
Q: Do you believe Haley Stevens is hurting the ticket?
El-Sayed: I have much respect to the congresswoman. We had a hard fought primary. That primary ended in August. I'm focused now on beating Mike Rogers. I hope that every Democrat, frankly, I hope that everybody who's worried about the state of our democracy, worried about the ability to afford gas and groceries, worried about ending illegal wars or ending tariff wars is with me in that fight.

This is beautifully and powerfully said about Michiganders and Americans at large.
I’m not from Michigan, but my son went to the University of Michigan and I spent quite a bit of time visiting him there. I found the people of Michigan to be exactly like El-Sayed said: hard-working, open minded, and willing to have a conversation—good-hearted people.
He’s right, we can do way more together than we can do alone. So as we head into the final days, wherever you live, think about the people talking about what we can do together. We may be a lonely, disconnected country, but let’s put that to bed and start doing things together the way we used to—there’s so much more power in that.
HAPPENING NOW IN TEL AVIV: tens of thousands of Israeli citizens, Jews and Palestinians, are marching to demand a Jewish-Arab government after winning against Netanyahu - Ben Ggovernment on Tuesday.
El-Sayed: You guys love to play the condemn game. I've already been clear that that ad was not made by me, and I do not agree with the contents of that ad. Please ask me questions that are relevant to the voters of the state of Michigan. I'm running to win an election in Michigan.
Most people don't care about this like intrigue stuff that you all love to carry. It is not of concern to the vast majority of Michiganders. People here are struggling to afford their gas. They're struggling to afford their groceries. They're struggling to see a doctor. They really could care less about all this stuff that you all push for clicks

On a recent podcast episode Michigan Attorney General @dananessel , who is Jewish, makes it clear that her values leave no room for voting for Mike Rogers. She'll be voting for @AbdulElSayed .
And she has a pointed message for Democrats considering Rogers: Take a hard look at his record and ask yourself whether it reflects the values you've spent your life fighting for.
From LGBTQ+ and reproductive rights to healthcare, Social Security, voting rights, and gun safety, Nessel argues that this election is about far more than personal feelings toward a candidate.
For Nessel, the choice is clear, it’s Abdul El-Sayed, and she's not mincing words. Please listen in 👇

El-Sayed: I want an America where everybody, no matter who they are, feels safe. Whether you're a Jewish American or Christian American or Muslim American—that we feel safe and the kind of division that we've seen in our politics right now is really quite ugly
