Ahh, the Halloween afternoon sounds of gunfire a coming from a couple miles east of Harlem and Belmont.

According to the news article linked here, In February 2017, shots were fired at two brothers who were walking in the alley near their home on the 3600 block of Oriole after being asked their gang affiliation. Concerned about gun violence in their quiet Dunning neighborhood, the community rallied, leading to a 16th District Police Roll Call (pictured) held in front of the house on February 17, 2017. “Homicide in Mayfair … Officers responded to a call of a person shot at about 11:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, near Kilpatrick and Lawrence avenues. Chicago Police Department released the following: “The victim, a 35-year-old male, was involved in a verbal argument with a known male offender inside his residence. The argument became physical, at which point the offender produced a firearm and fired shots at the victim. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Lutheran General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. A person of interest is in custody, and a firearm was recovered. No further injuries were reported. Area Five Detectives are investigating.”” @NadigNewspapers
