1-8 in the CFP.
The BIG 12 anti-bias has only shown up the last 2 years. Before that your Champion routinely made
it in and got waxed yearly.
SEC and other college football fans who oppose a 24-team playoff usually say this:
“Regular season games won’t matter anymore if 9-3 teams get in!”
Well, fellas, welcome to the present reality of Big 12 fans!
Our regular season games “don’t matter” today after one loss under the current, corrupt pro-SEC system. Last year BYU went 11-1 in the regular season with their only loss at Top 10 Texas Tech.
BYU had zero support from the CFP and ESPN after that one loss. Their only hope was to then win the conference championship and they lost again to Tech.
The Big 12 is 0-for-14 securing at-large bids in the 12-team CFP format. The only game, therefore, that “matters” in the Big 12 is the conference championship game.
That’s absurd.
The Top 12 spots are blatantly gate-kept for SEC teams and top-end Big Ten teams. This starts with preseason rankings giving SEC teams “ranked wins” early against teams that end up going 7-5. Then ESPN conjures comically biased metrics to further benefit SEC teams.
If you want regular season games to “matter more” in college football on the whole, expand to 24-teams.
Remember, those who most ardently support corrupt systems (like the current 12-team CFP), are the ones who benefit most from the corruption.
Do you think it has anything to do with the teams that have won like 60% of your conference titles leaving and being replaced with independents, mid majors and the bottom of the Pac 10?
Bill, with respect, you lead by saying “nobody” wants a 24-team CFP
That’s not true. As a BYU and Big 12 fan, I want 24.
The reason is access beyond the blue bloods. Today, one loss for BYU/B12 almost means “the rest of your season doesn’t matter. You’re out of the CFP.” The biased, pro-SEC and blue bloods coverage of your network, ESPN, almost guarantees that.
The Big 12 is 0-for-13 securing at-large bids in the 12-team model. That’s deliberate by the pro-SEC/blue bloods powers that be. The only two Big 12 teams in the CFP over the last two years were the conference camps with automatic qualifier status.
In your 24-team model, last year FIVE Big 12 teams would have made the CFP. That’s the access I and many like me are pounding the table for.
The 12-teams CFP is gate-kept for the blue bloods, mostly from the SEC.
Expand to 24 teams and let’s settle it on the field.
LSU was one of those loses. We were 7-5, had an interim coach, a back up QB, and every one of our NFL draftees sat out and our match up was against the 4th best team in the Big 12 and it was a 3 point game.
People bitch about SEC teams scheduling cupcakes in November but want Alabama vs Kennesaw State in the playoffs?

Miami fans desperately want ACC teams to get ranked so they can drop a couple games and still coast into the CFP.
Counterpoint: conferences are made up of teams
1) the committee's job is to evaluate teams, not conferences.
2) without substantially larger OOC sample sizes, any data model trying to evaluate conference strength is subject to circular logic and a high degree of potential error.
Anything the committee might use to say that TeamB1 is better than Team A1 because Team B2 beat team A2 is a fool's errand
Texas Tech fans keep complaining about the lack of respect for the big 12 like they weren’t a top 4 seed last year and didn’t then lose without scoring a point.
Lane Kiffin has more 10 Win seasons since 2017 than Tennessee and USC have combined since he left each of them.
They have a combined 28 seasons.

Reminder:
When you beat Ole Miss you rush the field. You tear down goal posts. You jump in the polls. You celebrate. You should. The day you beat Ole Miss is a momentous occasion. It’s a cause for celebration.
But, understand, when Ole Miss beats you...
It’s just Saturday.
