Play Modern Warfare 4 today! Season 1 launching November 6.
I remember grinding to get better in FFA back in MW3 (2011). I watched videos on what perks to use, streaks were best, what attachments for guns like the MP7, ACR. Eventually, i got so good, i ran specialist and cleared lobbies 90% of the time and pretty much always finished top 3.
Spun up a FFA on MW4 yesterday and went 4-10 before backing out. When i backed out i noticed there was only 4 people left in the game besides me.
Do I suck compared to back then? Probably. Am I still a good cod player? Definitely not. Am i someone who is supposed to be going bottom 3 in a FFA when I’ve been playing this game for over 15 years? You tell me.
SBMM has made me quit. I’m not a sweaty streamer. I’m not someone who uses meta guns for gameplays. I’m someone who just wants to hop on every now and then and maybe get a gold gun. Any sense of fun or excitement has been eliminated. MW4 Multiplayer is not worth playing no matter how you slice it. Once you clowns get your camos, you’ll likely agree.
My win loss is completely skewed in MW4 bc i think i stay in 1 in every 5 matches all the way through.
Matchmaking is unbearable.

Some of the best COD players on the planet dropped a combined 1.27KD. Thank you Call of Duty for making sure everyone has the same experience regardless of how many years or hours of playtime they have over the years of trying to get better!

I’m actually baffled at how many people think this system is ok…
1. this is in PUBLIC matches not ranked, if it’s ranked totally different story
2. these are PROs. professionals at ANYTHING in life should be “better” than most people. Wouldn’t say a 1.27kd is “impressive” compared to how good pros were in older cod games
3. i’m not saying everyone needs to have a 6KD to have fun in Call of Duty, i admit im terrible at the game now, but for some of these people it’s their entire job and they aren’t doing “well”. Don’t you think if you spent several years doing something in life every single day you’d be a little better than “slightly above average”

Something people aren’t talking about much is how LIMITING MW4 is.
- streaks are set to 5,7,9 etc…why can’t we choose to use multiple “5” or “7” streaks if we want?
- ninja is essentially a “must-run” unless you’re in a protected bracket eliminating any perk variety from that tier
- weapon balance is so poor you’re forced to use an AR and maybe a SMG if you’re feeling spicy that day.
- obviously SBMM makes it so you can only use the meta if you wanna try going positive
Feel like i’m missing other things but i don’t understand why Infinity Ward feels the need to completely take away as many choices as possible from players.
Similarly, MW4 is the first COD multiplayer to make sure I still go to the gym everyday. Thank you @CallofDuty
