School breaks are an opportunity to evaluate ventilation performance.
When students are away, facility teams can evaluate HVAC system performance with less disruption to daily school activities. With the upcoming school break, consider taking time to:
💠Inspect the condition and operation of ventilation components.
💠Verify outdoor airflow rates against ventilation requirements
💠Evaluate airflow measurement and control performance
💠Review BAS data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement
EBTRON airflow measurement solutions provide accurate, reliable, real-time data to help facility teams monitor, validate, and manage ventilation performance.
Make the most of scheduled downtime. Measure and verify to support better building performance with students' return.

How many people are actually in the building?
Occupancy can change throughout the day, making accurate people counting an important part of demand control ventilation (DCV) strategies.
EBTRON's Thermal Imaging Occupancy Counter uses dual-sensor differential thermal imaging and bidirectional counting to track people entering and leaving a space. With occupancy counting accuracy better than ±5% of the actual population or three people, whichever is greater, the device provides valuable data to help building operators better match ventilation to occupancy.
Because effective ventilation starts with knowing how many people are there.
EBTRON, a measurable difference.

Tuesday Training Tip | Proper Probe Placement Matters!
Even the most accurate airflow measurement technology depends on proper installation.
Dampers, elbows, louvers, and other duct configurations can create airflow disturbances that make measurement challenging. That's why selecting the right probe location is essential to achieving reliable airflow measurements.
EBTRON provides two valuable resources to help:
📕Duct & Plenum Probe Placement Guide - Technical guidance for understanding airflow conditions, installation considerations, and recommended probe placement.
💻Probe Placement Tool - A practical resource to help evaluate installation conditions and determine appropriate probe placement.
Accurate airflow measurement starts with proper placement. Explore EBTRON's probe placement guide and tool➡️ ebtron.com/docs/placement-du…
Your Energy Model Predicts Performance. But Does Your Building Deliver?
Energy models help predict how a building should perform. But what happens once the building is operational?
That’s where accurate airflow measurement makes the difference. EBTRON’s Advantage Gold Series airflow measurement technology provides real-time airflow data that can help engineers and facility managers:
✔ Compare actual ventilation performance with design expectations
✔ Identify opportunities to optimize HVAC system operation
✔ Monitor airflow as building conditions and occupancy change
✔ Make informed decisions about ventilation and energy efficiency
With NIST-traceable calibration and up to 16 independent sensing nodes, EBTRON provides the airflow data needed to better understand actual system performance. Because you can’t optimize what you don’t accurately measure.
EBTRON. A measurable difference.

Is your building getting the outdoor air it was designed for?
Dampers drift, filters load, and fan speeds change throughout the day. A damper position or a design value tells you what should be happening, not what is. Without direct measurement, a system can fall short of minimum ventilation, or over-ventilate and waste energy, and no one knows.
Continuous outdoor airflow measurement gives operators the data to verify ventilation, maintain building pressurization, and control energy use every day, not just at commissioning.
Why measure airflow? Our guide, A Measurable Difference, covers what’s at stake for occupant health, code compliance, building pressurization, and energy.

Keeping indoor humidity below 60% isn't enough to prevent mold.
Exterior walls and thermal bridges run cooler than room air. When a building operates under negative pressure, humid outdoor air is drawn into the wall cavity — and condenses, even when space humidity looks fine.
@IFMA FMJ published an article by EBTRON's @DeangelisDarryl chair of the ASHRAE 62.1 Ventilation Subcommittee, explaining why the fix starts with airflow direction: continuous, measured positive pressurization.
"Preventing mold inside exterior walls starts with controlling airflow direction."

School districts: Is your indoor air quality work ready for national recognition?
Applications for the 2027 NSBA Magna Awards are due October 31, 2026. Grand Prize winners receive $5,000 and national recognition through the National School Boards Association.
In a September webinar from NSBA and the Go Green Initiative, NSBA Executive Director & CEO Verjeana McCotter-Jacobs explains why healthy school buildings matter and walks through the application process, including:
✅ How districts earn points
✅ Required documentation
✅ Developing a strong Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Management Plan
✅ Free templates, online training, and one-on-one technical assistance from GGI
A strong IAQ management plan starts with knowing how your buildings are actually performing, including whether the outside air your classrooms need is really being delivered.
There's still time to apply, and GGI is hosting a Q&A and application support session on October 13.
