There will come a day when you look around at your life and realize just how much God was doing when you thought nothing was moving.
Tie goes to the umpire…. And he should always be out.
It drives me nuts that the announcers don’t know the actual rule and are saying “at least it’s a tie. Tie goes to the runner.” There is no tie goes to the runner. The rule states that the runner must beat the ball to the bag.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Under Official Baseball Rule 5.09(a)(10), a batter-runner is out only when first base is tagged 'before he touches first base.' The official rules do not state that the runner must beat the ball; rather, the defense must touch the base before the runner arrives. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tie_goes_…

I’ve noticed parents who actually had successful sports careers are usually the quietest at games. They let their kids play and coaches coach. The loudest parents are often trying to live the career they never had through their kids. Let the kids have THEIR journey.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - the catcher is the most important position on the field when it comes to altering the outcome of the game. Are they gaining strikes or losing them? Underrated importance in the chess game known as baseball.
Big time games with the @WRWBL Semi Finals starting tonight. @NYBearsBaseball vs. the New Rochelle Tigers @ Roberto Clemente in the BX & The New City Outlaws vs. the NYC Thunderdogs at Rumbrook. Both games with a 7:30pm start.

Yeah guys everything’s fine, it’s just mid-July and you can’t breathe the air or eat a salad.
Yikes! Between being underpaid, the shortage of officials and the unappreciative attitude towards Umpires - things like this are bound to happen.
$3 G’s for a tourney???? 🤯🤯🤯
It’s just a $3,000 weekend of scrimmages without us. Dagger for the kids.

Do you get behind the catcher to see what the umpire is seeing?
Always good to get a view of what umpires see to make sure you’re giving them the best look.
