At this moment of history, the Democratic National Committee and National Finance Committee have ignored the Southern States and gave no resources to the campaigns of Angie Nixon (FL), Jamie Davis(LA), and Scott Colom (MISS). Ms. Nixon and Mr. Davis lost by a couple of % points. Mr. Colom awaits a miracle victory on a razors edge. The Supreme Court destroyed the Voters Right Act of the Civil Rights movement and Black folks answered the clarion call to fight back because there is BLOOD ON THAT BALLOT BOX. To many died to turn back now. From this night forward there is a New Southern Stratergy led by advocates like Gary Chambers in Louisiana and Stacey Adams in Georgia. This is political malpractice by Chuck Schumer and the National Democratic Party. So while evil people plot, good people plan! The fight continues in the morning. Mississippi will be battlefront. I have been holding my tongue about something that happened during the Ohio gubernatorial race. I refused to speak while the election was underway because I did not want my words mistaken for an attempt to influence anyone’s vote. But now that the election is over, I have something to say. For nearly twenty years, my ministry has taken me among the homeless, the abused, the exploited, and the forgotten. I have sat with victims of sexual violence and witnessed the lifelong wounds of childhood trauma. What Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign did to Amy Acton was among the most morally repulsive things I have witnessed in American politics. They took a woman whose stepfather was indicted for raping her when she was twelve years old and featured her mother, from whom she had been estranged for nearly fifty years, in a political advertisement attacking her credibility. The advertisement challenged Acton’s account of her childhood without mentioning the sexual abuse allegations or the circumstances of that estrangement. When people expressed their horror, the campaign defended it. Imagine examining another person’s childhood suffering and fractured family relationships, then deciding those wounds might help win an election. Anyone who has worked with survivors of childhood sexual abuse understands the painful realities of denial, betrayal, shame, and estrangement. A child growing into a successful adult does not erase what happened. Nor does a parent’s denial make that suffering disappear. I find it equally disturbing that an elderly mother, whom Acton herself described as unwell, was brought into this spectacle. Whatever her own struggles or responsibility for the past, exploiting that fractured relationship was grotesque. To everyone who defended this, consider the message you sent to survivors. To the young woman whose family refuses to believe her. To the man who has carried the shame of childhood abuse for forty years. To the frightened child who has yet to tell anyone. What did you teach them about the value of their suffering? I am a priest. I believe in repentance, forgiveness, and redemption. But none of those things requires me to pretend that deliberate cruelty is anything less than a grave moral failure. Your political allegiance does not absolve you of moral responsibility. You do not get to set aside your conscience during an election and retrieve it afterward. If your loyalty requires you to defend the exploitation of a childhood sexual abuse survivor, your loyalty has become an idol. And if your conscience cannot recognize the wrong here, examine what political tribalism has done to it. This is not about Republicans or Democrats. We have a choice as a people: continue excusing cruelty from our preferred political camp, or summon the courage to condemn it wherever it appears. Amy Acton deserved better. Every survivor who watched this unfold deserved better. And God help us if we have reached the point where winning an election matters more than protecting the dignity of a wounded human being.

Pretty hilarious for Democrats to have the craziest and biggest progressive night in decades only to anoint Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer. I hope Democrats look around and realize they owe Hakeem and Chuck nothing for these wins. Choose bolder leadership.

It’s time for Chuck to go.
Oh, Chuck, to even suggest in theory that Trump might change his ways to work with you and the Democrats is patently absurd. Please find a successor who is living in the same reality as all of us out here begging for action and accountability.

🔵 “Mike Rogers is a boring white guy. He is not asked to condemn things,” Michigan State Sen. Mallory McMorrow told Zeteo, slamming the double standard facing Muslim Democrat Abdul El-Sayed. McMorrow recalled inviting El-Sayed to her home after the primary, where they discussed their families and the need to ensure their daughters grow up with equal safety and security. “We are building a new Democratic Party here in Michigan that doesn’t put up with any of this bullshit, that calls out hate when we see it, and doesn’t play around and play footsie with white nationalists,” she said. @MalloryMcMorrow | @mehdirhasan | @zeteo_news

If Democrats prevail over Trump's illegal obstructions in November it will NOT because of @SenSchumer or @hakeemjeffries - it will be DESPITE them. To credit them for the victory would be to compound mistakes made by Democrats for many years. We simply need NEW leadership.

Elon Musk donated $500k to Greg Abbott’s campaign, and then Greg Abbott gave him a $2B tax break. It pays to be a Greg Abbott donor. That’s who he works for- not us. houstonchronicle.com/politic…

Gold miners’ earnings surge but valuations lag: Sprott Gold producers aren’t getting full credit from investors for stronger profits and tighter spending discipline, Sprott Asset Management says. The NYSE Arca Gold Miners Index traded at 5.7 times expected operating earnings at Sept. 30, about 22% below its roughly 7.3-times average over the past 20 years. Its forward earnings-per-share measure has climbed to more than four times its level at the end of 2023, according to the Toronto-based investment manager. “We believe that major gold miners favour capital discipline and profitability, which has at least been partly reflected in their balance sheets and rising shareholder distributions,” Director of Research & Investment Strategy Kenny Zhu said in an emailed reply to The Northern Miner. “Net debt levels have fallen to their lowest point in the past 20 years, even as return on capital rises and shareholder distributions increase.” (Northern Miner)

Alex Gibney: “There was an estimate that what [Elon Musk] did by suddenly cutting USAID would cost through disease and starvation as many as 14M lives. Even if you discount that, we know within a year of those cuts where they were literally burning food going to starving children, 500K children died. This is really a crime against humanity, but he makes a joke about it, I put USAID into the woodchipper. What he put into the woodchipper were children”

Ken Paxton has ordered the Ten Commandments hung in every Texas classroom. Here is his scorecard. Thou shalt not commit adultery. — Confessed an affair to his own staff in 2018. His wife filed for divorce on “biblical grounds” in 2025. A second alleged affair with a married Christian influencer followed, complete with a Fourth of July trip to Iceland this summer. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife. — She has a husband and seven children. Thou shalt not steal. — Caught on courthouse video in 2013 pocketing another lawyer’s $1,000 Montblanc pen. Later paid $271,000 in restitution to investors he recruited without telling them he was being paid to do it. Thou shalt not bear false witness. — The State Bar accused him of dishonesty in his lawsuit to overturn the 2020 election. In July, ProPublica found he is registered to vote at a house he appears to have moved out of. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house. — Fifteen of them, worth roughly $9 million, on a $153,000 salary. A Republican House impeached him over allegations that a donor paid to renovate one. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. —He is running for the U.S. Senate on his Christian values

Appropriate question, but we already know the answer. It doesn’t bother them at all. In fact, like Trump, they find it much easier to deal with gangster dictators who speak their language of personal gain than democratic leaders who represent citizens and national interests.
Ukrainian journalist asked Witkoff a very direct question: “You have met with Putin many times. Doesn’t it disgust you to sit at the same table with a war criminal, the butcher of the Ukrainian people, who is responsible for this war?”

❗️“You have met with Putin many times. Doesn’t it seem to you that Putin has been deceiving you this whole time? Doesn’t it seem to you that Putin and the Russians understand only one language well — the language of force? Don’t you find it repulsive to sit at the same table with an international war criminal, the executioner of the Ukrainian people, who is personally responsible for Ukraine’s tragedy?” — journalist Gordon to Witkoff
