The 2026 European Youth Chess Championship is set to take place from 2-13 November in Hersonissos, Crete, Greece! 🏆 #chess #eycc2026
♟️ The event gathers nearly 1250 children coming from 49 European federations, including 281 titled players! They will compete in six age categories: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18, open and girls sections separately, and each championship will be played in 9 rounds, swiss system, with the time control of 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment per each move, starting from move one.
📍 The playing venue is located at the ****Royal & Imperial Belvedere Resort in Hersonissos, Crete, which is also one of the official hotels of the event.

At just 11 years and 7 months, Bodhana secured her third and final IM norm today at the European Club Cup. ♟️
Congratulations to 11-year-old Bodhana Sivanandan 🏴 on becoming an International Master with a final-round win at the European Women’s Chess Club Cup 2026! 👏
Bodhana delivered a fantastic performance, scoring 5.5/7 on Board 1 for She Plays to Win Lionesses 🏴, making her the youngest female player in history to earn the IM title!

Students from KEGS, Brentwood County High School, Brentwood School & Bancrofts played 3 rounds of chess, with KEGS & Brentwood qualifying for the Regional KO matches next term👏

Keith began this impressive streak just a week after his 65th birthday and went on to win 72 and draw 28 in 100 consecutive FIDE-rated classical games.
