He made the lantern for a GREEN ring. Focus:
1. Sinestro has the ability to forge lantern tech. But because fear was involved it created cracks.
2. He got dipped in the fear water and now probably will use that fear of whatever he saw, to create a complete fear driven lantern.
I see a lot of ppl confused on here so let me try to help. It is established lore that some lanterns use their OWN version of an “oath” personalized to themselves. John from the show is not the first to do this. Uniquely Hal was the first to come up with “In brightest day”.
