LFG , shout out to the fam. @chatterpay
I’m always forced to make posts like this, because people can’t be real with themselves and this is exactly why symptoms are constantly address rather than the root cause. Maybe what is obvious to me is not so obvious to others or maybe it’s just denial.
The culture in cardano was never 100000% about competing in existing markets, instead it was about pioneering new markets. This has been the culture from the very top until the past 12 months.
example:
- Why integrate USDC at the beginning of the industry as every other chain did….. because we can build our own. It is fundamentally disingenuous to pretend any financial system can be established with out a stable value vehicle. duhhhh!
- Why integrate chainlink like everyone else does…. because we can build our own.
- Why work with VC’s? because we can build our own grant program while speaking negatively about VC’s for years.
- DeFi is not serious people stuff, supply chain and other niche markets are…. While selling “Banking the unbanked” < this is DeFi by the way!!!!
- Governance and decentralization are the focal points of our offerings are a chain…. because growth via interoperability and scalability are not? considering that blockchains live and die by the amount of users and adoption.
Don’t tell me it’s not a cultural thing. It absolutely has been ingrained from the top down the idealistic and altruistic ethos that has lead to all the short comings.
Identify the root cause, Business is objective, results driven! IT HAS UNDENIABLY BEEN A CULTURAL ISSUE!!!
Don't portray this as a cultural thing; Cardano projects are genuinely trying, but the issue is fundamental. As I said before, none of the Cardano projects can solve the fundamental problems that keep DeFi on Cardano unattractive (read: heavily uncompetitive). That's why I see this as nothing special, just another proxy setup to redistribute treasury funds to Cardano projects while the fundamental problems stay the same: a way-too-slow, expensive network; no widely adopted, CEX-listed, easy on- and off-ramping (via popular, proven service providers) of stablecoins whatsoever. Not to mention nothing on the TradFi side (fast, cheap, and easy interoperability) yet. Fireblocks announced support long ago, but many other infrastructural MPC wallet providers, like Copper or Chainup, should do the same, and I don't see it happening anytime soon. I'm saying this only to help and point fingers at what's important. Not to criticize. That's why my prayers go towards Leios, but let's wait and see.
If this doesn’t work, it’s truly a cultural issue that no one can solve. God Speed, Here it goes…. 🚀 @alphagrowth1 @Cardano_Prime
The first Cardano PRIME cohort is here.
Nine teams, funded to close the biggest gaps in @Cardano DeFi: DEXs, lending, bridges, vaults, real-world assets, and the audits that keep all of it safe.
Here’s who’s building what ↓
(Builder livestream next week. Details in the end of the thread)
Respectfully, this is a Cardano Community IQ test. Looking forwards to the results. 😂👇🏼
.@CoinDesk did a deep dive on our @Cardano copper reserve proposal.
They ran the numbers, looked at the costs, the risks, the break-even. All of it.
Good. That’s exactly what should happen when Treasury money is on the table.
- 22M $ADA
- Real copper in a COMEX-approved warehouse
- 1 CuTT for every pound
- Whatever’s left after the sale goes back to the Treasury
Voting closes Nov 15. Read it and decide for yourself.
