Despite the frequent invocation of sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law, Eritrea's own record raises serious questions about the consistency of its commitment to these principles. This selective references of international law is particularly difficult to reconcile with the regimes’s conduct. Respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity must be genuinely reflected in actions, not merely in its public posture. Then with proper due diligence comes a rightful place at the highest table. Ethiopia’s has consistently demonstrated a commitment to constructive engagement, mutual respect and cooperation with diverse partners and institutions, both bilaterally and multilaterally. And for the record; the future of relations in the Horn of Africa must be guided by mutual respect for the legitimate economic and strategic interests of all states in the region, as well as a genuine commitment to peaceful coexistence and regional cooperation.
nitter.cf/GermanyDiplo/status/21… Stability in the #Horn of #Africa is indeed vital. But stability cannot be defined exclusively through the lens of one country, nor can it be achieved by overlooking the sovereignty, territorial integrity and legitimate security concerns of its neighbours. Preventing escalation requires more than calls for restraint. It demands addressing the underlying causes, and upholding the principles of the @UN Charter and international law. Threats, coercion and ambitions directed against the territorial integrity of neighbours cannot be normalized or overlooked. Regional stability cannot be built on selective principles or strategic appeasement...and stability is not a licence for regional primacy, nor can it come at the expense of the sovereignty and security of neighbouring states. There can be no durable regional stability without respect for sovereign equality, territorial integrity, mutual respect and adherence to international law

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦, 𝗔𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗦 𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗕𝗔! 🇪🇹 Addis Ababa’s recognition with the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 is a proud moment for Ethiopia and international recognition of its progress and ambitions in sustainable urban development. But this achievement should inspire a bigger vision: extending sustainable development beyond the capital while preserving the history, heritage and cultural identity of every city. From Harar to Bahir Dar, Hawassa to Jimma, Arba Minch to Dire Dawa, every Ethiopian city has the potential to become a model of sustainable development. One city's recognition should become a nation's inspiration. Today, Addis Ababa. Tomorrow, every Ethiopian city. Let's build a future of thriving cities without losing the identity that makes them unique. @AmbBirukUK @PMEthiopia @MFAEthiopia @UKinEthiopia #AddisAbaba #Ethiopia #SustainableCities #UrbanDevelopment #AfricanCities #SustainableDevelopment #BuildingTheFuture

𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 @AbiyAhmedAli 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐚–𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has emphasised the importance of stronger cooperation between Russia and African countries, urging collective commitment to translate the historic decisions of the 3rd Russia–Africa Summit in Moscow into tangible results. Addressing the summit, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed highlighted three key pillars central to Ethiopia’s national development and sustainable prosperity: food security and productivity, reliable energy supply, and skills and knowledge transfer. He stressed that advancing these priorities is crucial to Ethiopia’s development ambitions, underscoring the importance of cooperation in achieving meaningful and lasting results. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed also highlighted Ethiopia’s longstanding diplomatic relations with Russia, which span more than a century and are rooted in mutual respect and shared benefits. To strengthen this historic relationship, he said Ethiopia is collaborating with Russia on the construction of a nuclear power plant. The initiative, he stated, would diversify Ethiopia’s energy options, accelerate the country’s prosperity and further strengthen bilateral ties. The 3rd Russia–Africa Summit, held in Moscow on 28–29 October 2026, brings together African leaders and Russian officials to advance political dialogue and cooperation in areas including trade, investment, agriculture, energy, science and technology. The summit builds on previous meetings held in Sochi in 2019 and St Petersburg in 2023. @AmbBirukUK @PMEthiopia @MFAEthiopia @UKinEthiopia #Ethiopia #AbiyAhmed #RussiaAfricaSummit #RussiaEthiopiaRelations #FoodSecurity #EnergySecurity #SustainableDevelopment
