A handful of peanuts a day helped older adults' memory centers respond better in a new study. Researchers at Maastricht University in the Netherlands asked 31 healthy adults aged 60 to 75 to eat 60 grams, about two servings, of unsalted, skin-roasted peanuts every day for 16 weeks, and to skip peanuts for another 16 weeks. Using MRI scans after a puff of insulin up the nose, they measured how blood flow in different brain regions responded. After the peanut period, regions involved in memory, including the hippocampus, responded to insulin better than after the peanut-free period. The brain relies on insulin to help it use energy, and poor insulin response in the brain has been linked to memory decline and Alzheimer's disease. The team thinks peanuts' healthy fats, fiber and the amino acid L-arginine may help. This was a small trial that measured brain insulin response, not memory or dementia, and it was funded by The Peanut Institute Foundation, which the authors say had no role in the study. source: Kerkhof, L., Mensink, R. P., Plat, J., Nijssen, K. M. R., & Joris, P. J. (2026). Daily consumption of unsalted, skin-roasted peanuts beneficially affects regional brain insulin responsiveness in older adults: Results of a longer-term randomized controlled trial. Food & Function.

“It's not what the person looks like on the outside; it's how they're feeling on the inside. Because everyone has feelings. Of love, of hurt, of betrayal, or anger, rage, depression. And sometimes you can't see on the outside just how broken or unhappy people are inside. “

Pete Hegseth was thoroughly embarrassed by Senator Tammy Duckworth. Senator Tammy Duckworth—a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel who lost both her legs while serving in Iraq—pressed Hegseth with a question: Tammy Duckworth: "I’m glad you brought that up. Can you name even one ASEAN member country and explain what kind of agreement we have with it? And, while you’re at it, do you know how many countries are in ASEAN? Frankly, I’m not even sure you know who our allies are." Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth: "Well, I can’t give you the exact number, but I certainly know who our allies are: South Korea, Japan, and Australia..." Tammy Duckworth: "None of the countries you just mentioned are members of ASEAN. I suggest you do your homework better before engaging in these kinds of discussions." The level of incompetence of the person leading the Pentagon—it’s simply unbelievable.

Now would be a good time to remind everyone of these Trump facts, because apparently some people still need the refresher. Please meet the President of the United States: Flew on Epstein’s plane at least seven times. Just friends, I guess. Pleaded the Fifth more than 400 times in a single deposition. Nothing says “innocent” like refusing to answer a single question about your own business. 34 felony convictions. A record most people would call disqualifying. And 91 criminal charges. Accused of sexual misconduct or assault by at least 26 women. But sure, tell me again how he’s a great guy. 6 corporate bankruptcies. The self proclaimed greatest businessman alive somehow keeps running out of money. 5 draft deferments. Funny how the toughest guy in the room never actually showed up for duty. 4 criminal indictments. Not two. Not three. Four. 2 impeachments. A club of exactly one president. 2 of his own companies convicted of criminal tax fraud. Convicted. Not accused. Convicted. 1 fake university shut down. 1 fake charity shut down. Even his charity was a grift. Paid 25 million dollars to settle the Trump University fraud lawsuit because scamming people who believed in you costs money eventually. Ordered to pay 5 million dollars in the first E Jean Carroll sexual abuse verdict, then hit with 83.3 million more in the second. A jury said it twice so nobody could pretend it was a fluke. Ordered to pay 2 million dollars for looting his own so called charity. Stealing from a charity with his own name on it. Found liable for business fraud and originally slapped with a penalty topping 450 million dollars, later thrown out on appeal while the fraud finding itself stuck to him anyway. First president in modern history to increase the deficit every single year of a full term. Fiscal responsibility, apparently, was always just a talking point. Kept the debt to GDP ratio above 100 percent for his entire first term. Presided over the largest single day point drop in Dow Jones history at the time. So much for the guy who claimed to be a genius with money. Set the record for the longest government shutdown in US history in his first term at 35 days, then couldn’t resist beating his own miserable record in his second term with a 43 day shutdown, followed by yet another shutdown just months later. Encore nobody asked for. Added roughly 2.25 trillion dollars to the national debt in his first year back in office alone, pushing the debt past 39 trillion dollars. Somebody remind me who the party of fiscal discipline is again. Pushed through the largest defense budget increase since World War Two while the debt kept climbing anyway. Purged more than 300,000 federal employees in his first year back. Efficient, if your goal is chaos. Pardoned nearly 1,600 January 6 Capitol rioters. At least 40 of those pardoned rioters have already been rearrested, charged, or sentenced for new crimes since walking free. Shocking absolutely nobody. His family’s crypto ventures, including a meme coin and World Liberty Financial, pulled in more than 1.4 billion dollars in disclosed earnings while he sat in the Oval Office. Draining the swamp was apparently code for filling his own pockets. Sent the National Guard into American cities at a cost of nearly 500 million taxpayer dollars in 2025 alone. His own tariffs are projected to cost the average American household more than 2,500 dollars this year. You’re paying for this. Not China. You. No more foreign wars. Peace deal with Russia and Ukraine on Day One. None of this is a conspiracy theory, a rumor, or something you saw in a group chat. It is the actual, documented record, sitting in plain sight for anyone willing to look. So the next time someone tells you to relax and give him a chance, ask them how many more indictments, judgments, and shutdown records he needs to rack up before that chance runs out. Darlene Graham is such a weak and useless Trump puppet that she can’t even defend the Lindsey O. Graham Russia Sanctions Act. She has zero thought or independence on anything policy or political. She was appointed to follow Trump’s every order and that’s exactly what she’s doing.

Indisputable. Amazing that partisan think Trump is strong, or for America first. He's weak, pathetic, and selling off American greatness for his self enrichment and to the empowerment of our enemies.
“There is no longer any point in discussing Trump’s motives. Is he still sore about the Hunter Biden laptop business? Is he mesmerized by Putin, as by so many autocrats? Does the Kremlin, as conspiracy theorists allege, have kompromat on him? Who cares? Whether or not he is a Russian asset, he is plainly an asset to Russia.” washingtonexaminer.com/premi…

Astonishing. 48 hours ago the NYT reported on a Treason scandal exponentially bigger than Benghazi, at the center of the Iran War, and involving Trump agents hiding the deaths of Americans in service of a foreign power—and besides the NYT the only outlet I see covering it is PROOF (my pinned post).

Switching to vaping after quitting smoking significantly increases the risk of developing and dying from lung cancer. The results come from a landmark study of over 4.3 million people published in Nature Medicine. For years, e-cigarettes have been marketed as a safer alternative to help people kick their smoking habit, but research shows that this "healthier" switch can actually elevate life-threatening risks. A massive population-based study of over 4.3 million individuals revealed that former smokers who transitioned to vaping after quitting were significantly more likely to develop and die from lung cancer than those who quit without using e-cigarettes. Specifically, ex-smokers who had quit for less than five years and turned to vaping experienced a 23% higher risk of developing lung cancer and a staggering 71% higher risk of lung cancer-related death compared to their non-vaping peers. The biological explanation lies in the chemical soup inhaled through e-cigarette aerosols. Although they do not contain tobacco, vaping devices heat liquid solutions to create aerosols filled with toxic, cancer-causing compounds, including formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and heavy metals like nickel and lead. Public health experts warn that while vaping is often championed for "harm reduction," it may actually be introducing fresh carcinogens that damage DNA and promote rapid tumor development in lungs already vulnerable from years of cigarette use. As medical professionals advocate for evidence-based cessation therapies like patches or behavioral counseling, this study underscores the urgent need to reconsider e-cigarettes as a tool for quitting. source: Kim, Y. W. “Use of e-cigarettes after quitting smoking increases lung cancer risk.“ American Thoracic Society.

OUTRAGE: Elon Musk's pro-fascist PAC Traps Voters with Deceptive "VoteSafe.org" Data Harvest! To help Trump rig the midterm elections, far-right disinformation propagandist Elon Musk is at it again. This is an absolute betrayal of voter trust and a blatant attempt to meddle in our democratic process! Reports from county election officials in Colorado and Washington have exposed a massive, deceptive information-gathering operation. Elon Musk's Super PAC, America PAC, has begun aggressively spreading blatant misinformation to voters across the country while quietly executing a mass data-harvesting scheme through a highly deceptive website called VoteSafe.org. Musk's lies and deception is already hitting cell phones. CNN recently confirmed that voters in Colorado were bombarded with text messages from Musk's PAC falsely claiming, "Your ballot request is in. Confirm now where and when to return it." This manufactured urgency has left local residents deeply confused and alarmed, forcing county offices to deal with the fallout. Voters should consult official Colorado state election guidelines to verify mail-in ballot procedures and registration requirements. Worse yet, the moment unsuspecting citizens click that link, they aren't interacting with a neutral government portal — their highly sensitive personal data is funneled directly into Elon Musk's hands — which will then be relayed to the fascist authoritarian Trump regime. Do not be fooled by the front page of VoteSafe.org. The site features an interface where the PAC collects user information. The second you enter your zip code or try to look up your record, Musk's political machine logs your data. If you need to manage your vote, check your registration, or track your mail-in status, do it strictly through official government voter tools like Vote.gov.
