I'm about to embark upon a huge project and need help sourcing a few films. I know the Feilding and de Van are beyond long shots, but if anyone has a lead/link, I'd be grateful: boxd.it/YfOYm

This year’s #NobelPrize laureate Anne Carson was born in 1950 in Toronto, Canada. In 1981, she published her doctoral thesis in Classics entitled ‘Odi et Amo Ergo Sum’, and has, throughout her entire career, combined poetry writing with translation work and teaching at various universities. Almost all her literary production has centred upon the intersection between the philologist’s obsession with words and the poet’s desire for new meaning. She has herself identified the etymology of words as the starting point for all her work.

In memory and honor of Frederick Wiseman, who took hold of a still-young format and, guided from the start by an unyielding sense of principle, made a body of work so original, idea-rich, and unified that it seems foreordained—a historic fusion of investigation and the inner life

here he is reading the excerpt about commodity fetishism at some event or another, it's one of my favorite things anyone's written about marx ever.
Wallace Shawn is trending, so it's a great time to read The Fever. It's a beautifully written monologue of the experience of being in the intelligentsia/middle class of the imperial core, and coming to terms with what that means for your way of life. Listen to an audiobook.

What are the best books, essays, poems, that deal with ghosts philosophically, or advance a theory of ghosts beyond the usual fuddy superstition and tropes? (and no hauntology please, not that I’m against it) I’m looking for something really against the known grain.
