13/11 to 16/11, 50-year-old track in platforms 2 & 3 @ Lowestoft will be replaced. The ground beneath the rails is saturated, increasing the likelihood of faults/disruption. Engineers will be using a special vacuum to remove old ballast before replacing it with fresh material.

54 people joined us by train at the space-themed Halesworth Scarecrow Festival/Pumpkin Trail today. Hetty's Lille Copy Shop provided trail sheets to locate scarecrows/solve the puzzle/enter the prize draw. St Mary's church had arts/crafts for the kids. The festival runs to 31/10.
We've installed a new wayfinding sign @greateranglia #Melton. It shows the walking routes to nearby Sutton Hoo and #Woodbridge along with places of interest in the village. Similar signs are already in situ at #Saxmundham and #Felixstowe.
Today we met up with Donovan who is hoping to become a station adopter volunteer @ Ipswich. Donovan & Rail Officer Thalia braved the pouring rain to weed the Memorial Garden/tidy up the shrubs/plant pansies & Sweet William/topped off with bark to keep the plants cozy over winter.
Today we're joining our #CommunityRail friends in celebrating the many scenic walking, wheeling and cycle routes accessible by rail. There are some fantastic routes to explore here in @EastSuffolk, connecting the railway with nature/heritage/local attractions.

Last evening we hosted a group of 17 from 8th Felixstowe Beavers. They took the train from @greateranglia #Felixstowe to #Ipswich & back again, had a safety talk, we're able to talk with the conductor, and ask questions. Each Beaver earned the Platforms for Change scouting badge.
We had brilliant weather for our guided walk yesterday! The 5.5mi circular route began @greateranglia Melton. 42 humans & 4 dogs took part as we made our way along the River Deben then up to Sutton Hoo. From there we walked along the King Charles III EC path back to the station.
Out with the old, in with the new! The flowers at the train shaped planter @greateranglia #Saxmundham were renewed this morning by Rail Officer Thalia ensuring lovely colour through the winter.
Mother Nature opened the skies and provided the water! 😃🌧️
