The former president of the leading professional psychology association in the United States, the American Psychological Association, reacted to Hamas's Oct. 7, 2023, terror attack on Israel by likening Gazans to George Floyd and Jews to racist police officers, internal emails obtained by the House Committee on Education and Workforce show.

I recently had the opportunity to tour Classic Turning in Jackson, which supports many industries through precision manufacturing.
Michigan has the skilled workforce and manufacturing expertise that America needs to lead the next generation of domestic manufacturing. I have been fighting to bring back domestic manufacturing production, so we can create more good-paying jobs, strengthen our economy, and protect the future of American industry.

Skilled trade workers need to be able to meet employer needs.
As Chairman of the Education and Workforce Committee, I am committed to providing trade workers the resources they need to meet the demands of the modern workforce.

A four-year college degree is not the only path to a successful career.
We need to expand opportunities for Americans to learn skilled trades, earn industry-recognized credentials, and get the training they need to succeed in good-paying jobs.
As a member of the Education and Workforce Committee, I’m working to make sure our education and workforce policies actually prepare Americans for the jobs our economy needs.

I was proud to expand Workforce Pell Grant eligibility and increase educational pathways for the next generation.
We must continue to create even more opportunities for American workers to succeed.

It’s great to speak with seniors at Washington High School! Thank you to teacher Shannon Johnson for welcoming me and giving me the opportunity to meet with these bright young Hoosiers. 🇺🇸

Reading scores have been plummeting nationwide. It is past time we reject failed fads, raise standards, and ensure every child gains the skills essential to be successful.
Proud to usher through the House the Science of Reading Act to improve literacy rates.

Parents know what is best for their child's education.
I will continue to lead efforts to restore parental control throughout our nation's education system.

It's common sense: men do not belong in women’s sports.
I was proud to usher the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act through the House to strengthen Title IX's protections for women and ensure a safe and level playing field for female athletes.

A preview of the disturbing findings from @EdWorkforceCmte’s latest report on antisemitism in K-12 schools:
🔴 Fifth graders were taught that the term “Founding Fathers” was harmful and that our Founding Fathers “created and upheld systems of racial and gender inequality.”
🔴 A school district recommended a children’s book that erases Israel from maps of the Middle East.
🔴 Second graders were taught about “privilege on a global scale” and “climate activism.”
🔴 School staff and students raised money for and collaborated with a group alleged to have ties to a U.S.-designated terrorist organization.
🔴 District employees responsible for writing curricula incited antisemitism online and among their colleagues, with one declaring that “all resistance is righteous.”
🔴 Eighth graders were taught about “expressions of power,” including the example of “when a non-binary speaks up to remind a teacher which pronouns they use.”
🔴 Teachers who taught lessons that legitimized antisemitism and whitewashed terrorism told colleagues not to share the curriculum directly with parents.
🔴 Rather than teaching the Holocaust in depth, a high school teacher focused her lessons on settler colonialism and what was happening in Palestine.
This is not education. This is erasing our history and indoctrinating young minds with radical, far-left propaganda and antisemitism. It is the exploitation of our most vulnerable, teaching them to hate our country and our allies.
As a husband and father to two educators and a member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, I am disgusted by these findings, and those responsible must be held accountable.
Our schools should be teaching the next generation the skills and lessons they need to succeed, not fueling hatred and political activism.

One of the sessions at the National Education Association’s (NEA) 2025 conference was titled “Christian Nationalist Threats to Public Education.”
The NEA is our nation’s LARGEST teachers union, and instead of supporting our educators and strengthening our education system, it is promoting anti-Christian rhetoric to push its radical agenda.
I have been sounding the alarm about this left-wing hack of an organization that enjoys the benefits of a federal charter. This deplorable behavior is exactly why I introduced legislation to revoke its charter.

In addition to delivering the largest tax refund season in American history, the Working Families Tax Cuts also expanded educational freedom, incentivizing investments in scholarships to support K-12 education for millions of hardworking Americans and pay for expenses that best meet their educational needs.

Enjoyed the chance to stop by Centreville High School to speak with students in their Youth in Government program about the importance of civic participation and learning more about the St. Joseph County Farm Bureau’s Food Club and the essential role it plays in supporting students. Thanks for having me!

I recently had the opportunity to host a roundtable with the superintendents of schools systems in Monroe County and discuss how we can support the next generation of leaders.
I was proud to help advance a legislative package to transfer key statutory authorities to agencies better equipped to carry them out, ensuring that students, families, educators, and taxpayers are served by a government that puts results ahead of bureaucracy.

Government funding should go to programs that benefit hardworking Americans.
Legislation like the No Aid for Ghost Students Act safeguards taxpayer funding by holding fraudsters accountable to ensure taxpayer dollars support everyday Americans.

Today, ED and @TheJusticeDept took action to defend parents’ rights and hold schools accountable for policies that keep critical information about children from their parents.

Enjoyed stopping by the Southern Michigan Center for Science and Industry in Hudson and learning more about how they are preparing the next generation of innovators for good-paying, high-skill careers. It was also great to stop by football practice to meet with staff and athletes. As Chair of the @EdWorkforceCmte, I always appreciate the opportunity to see students gaining hands-on experience.

Great night at Education Opportunity Night discussing the future of education and how we can give Utah families more opportunities to succeed.
LERs, school choice, and Trump Accounts are three important pillars that help students discover their interests and career paths earlier, build financial literacy, and give parents the freedom to choose the education that works best for their children.
