With this being said, I had a lot of folks reach out and I am appalled by the many instances coming out since, including the handful of things I’ve witnessed. Many of you asked if I needed support, to let them know. And right now, I need your support! Me and four other artists that left the residency over the last week have found a studio that’s safe and perfect for us to create in. It would be ours and ours alone. We can get in as soon as October 1st, but I need your help: We need 5k to be able to get it secured, and get tables/supplies before someone else grabs it. If there is any time I’d ask for funding, right now is that time. We need space to create and resume our bigger projects after having to leave a not so happy space! One of the artists in our group toured it the other day, and we’ve all decided it is the perfect spot. If you would like to contribute: ETH: 0x5EEEF05cc9EbEE2e0e82633189a2DB7fDa19Caa0 If you’d like to contribute other ways dm me! Help us secure this studio so we can keep creating bigger and beautiful art🫂

I’m going to comment as someone who was an art resident there from May up until a few days ago. When I had first started a girl that was leaving asked if I was starting residency there that I should never stay past 9, and when I asked why she said it was because of something involving the owner but that she couldn’t say anything, but since I was a woman wanted to warn me. I took that and kept it in mind and never stayed passed 9pm. He would often get mad at me for leaving around 9-930pm. After the first two months, I started noticing strange behavior, and the people he’d invite for private dinners there were often very weird towards us women. There was a man being creepy that kept coming back and when we mentioned it made us uncomfortable he said “guys this is a part of being artists and how you get famous”. He also had a special bottle of liquor he’d keep for when he’d bring pretty petite women off the street to the back after a gallery tour to take shots. An artist (male) once took one of the shots and he got kicked out of the residency for it, again odd. He told another artist that she had to sell her painting to the collector at his house and when she asked if she could bring her boyfriend he told her no. And she thought he was joking and he was like no I’m serious why would I be joking? (She still took her bf). This was during nft nyc btw. Also during NFT NYC this year, I was showcasing at a lot of events so I wasn’t at every single one at TTBH, though I was at a lot and was painting all day for one of the days. The day I wasn’t there at all was for canal st show and BurritoDAO event at lume studios, a guy I met there when I mentioned I was doing residency at TTBH told me his gf was assaulted there, and some of her friends. Then, benzi showed up, grabbed my shoulders from behind and was bragging he got an art piece of mine, and then made eye contact with that guy that said Benzi assaulted his gf, and disappeared. So I was wanting to grab my things already just with everything else I was hearing and witnessing the last month, and then I saw this video. And this girl is very sweet and talented and shouldn’t be discredited because I’m not at all shocked by this behavior as someone who was in residency for nearly 5 months there. I’ve seen strange demeanor, but these people who don’t know each other and have the same allegations on top of what all I’ve witnessed is enough. When I grabbed all my things to take out he immediately brought this video up, asked me to step to the side as I’m leaving and kept trying to explain himself and then was telling me I’m welcome to come back and paint whenever and kept trying to ask about my current painting while I was waiting for my uber so I explained it represents yin and yang in my style happiness can’t exist without sadness and vice versa, and he was like “ so the top is the happiness and the bottom is fear, no?” And that idk. It really made me feel uncomfortable and luckily my uber finally showed up to pack my things because I was scared. I brought my ex with me to grab my things even. This is just the tip of the iceberg, there is a lot I witnessed the last two months that is why I had been wanting to find a good time to grab my things anyway. It’s just disgusting all around. Too many layers. And I’m scared for sending this but I need to because people discrediting her don’t even know how bad it is. She is a young 19 year old girl and no one deserves that

been getting to know @Ed_Balloon since I posted about collecting on Transient - chopping it up a bit about music, art, etc - especially about the underrepresentation of music in the digital art space. Ed's a great guy, and I love what he's doing here. Music has always been close to my heart - watching how he's approaching this - blending music, film, and art - facilitated by digital art cards - is something I think is incredibly interesting. I have this on my calendar, and I'm excited to check out ASABL. I won't tell you how to live your life - but I think this is well worth checking out.
I'm taking a different approach to releasing my film. I’m creating collectible digital art cards that give you access to a film I created. Film and music rarely get the same love as other art forms in the crypto art space, but in true fashion, I'm choosing to go against that. Being part of the crypto art movement requires disruption. I disrupt. My art disrupts. Using this technology to support and release my film is disruption. I've spent three years trying to figure out how to release this film. The traditional film industry found it too risky or simply wasn't interested. When this happens, artists either let their films collect dust or do what the world has been telling us to do since streaming came into existence: "Just drop it for free!" Enough of that. The people I worked with and I put A LOT of sweat and labor into making this film happen. Because of art. Because stories matter. We have to find ways to take these mediums seriously in this space. In a world where I'm fighting against so many things for attention, I hope that by supporting this drop, you're not only pouring into me but helping create possibilities for other filmmakers to release their work on their own terms. In addition ,most importantly,I hope you enjoy this work. People told me this wouldn’t be possible to do. And by God grace it was. Done without the help of industry. Done with the help of the people, as it should be.

Ed's releasing digital collectible cards. “A Song About Black Love” on September 22, via Transient Labs. Found his work through a collab with Satari and it really stood out, the same care he puts into sound shows up in the visuals too. Super glad I got the opportunity to learn more about his influences on that space. The cards are pulled straight from a 2022 satirical animated short about a Black puppet navigating love and race. Holding a card also unlocks the film itself, gated behind token access, so the collectible is the ticket in. Site's up at asongaboutblacklove.com if you want to look through it before mint. Congratulations @Ed_Balloon Looks incredible so far 👏🏼
