BioWare MADE the Original Baldur's Gate games but Hasbro owns the IP. Baldur's Gate III was made by Larian Studios. What happened to BioWare was: Andromeda stained their reputation, Anthem flopped and Veilguard underperformed to finish them off.

Stark is faster, can concentrate and release his Reiatsu more efficiently and has the miles better fight IQ...while holding back because he doesn't want to fight. Remove that fetter and Barragan doesn't get to use Respira.

Also, it's one of those things I think the Manga frames better than the anime...but when Stark drops the "I'm the Primera Espada" reveal, Kyoraku WAS serious. He's not a brawler like Kenpachi or Ichigo; Serious Kyoraku has narrowed, shadowed eyes and a somewhat sinister grin.

The other aspect of this fight that I don't see getting mentioned is...Stark also NEVER fought at 100%; his psychology is antithetical to his actual power. He's the strongest Espada with no desire to use (or even have) his power.

I agree that Kyoraku could have taken Stark outright if he hadn't held back...but Kyoraku not holding back is Kyoraku deploying his Bankai. Shy of his Bankai, notice when he directly stepped back into the fight; when it became a Close-Range Battle which suits his Shikai better.
