Midterm results surprised no one paying attention. Conservatives who warned a war in Iran would cost us domestically while prices stayed high were called “panicans” and blackpillers. Nobody wanted another Middle East war. We wanted COVID accountability and affordability. Those were the priorities that mattered and have been largely ignored. The people who pointed this out got shouted down and blocked until the ballots were counted. Will they recognize their mistake? I doubt it, cognitive dissonance is a B. Have no fear. The next distractions are already lining up; oil shocks, further inflation, cyber attacks, false flags, and conscription talk. Same pattern as COVID. We saw what happens when warnings get ignored. Maybe you should pay attention this time.
I lived all of my 20s and early 30s in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those wars were sold on lies, with no real mission and endless occupation. They enriched the already rich while killing young Americans and innocents abroad. Before cheering war with Iran which has a bigger population, stronger military, worse geography, and messier neighbors, please remember…we rushed into Afghanistan on a 48 hr ultimatum to destroy the “evil acts” of Bin Laden, ignored any offramp, and stayed 20 years for nothing while Bin Laden hid in Pakistan and our country suffered. Iraq? WMD lies the American people swallowed and the media / our elected / BiBi Netanyahu prescribed. Resurgence of ISIS in 2014 with us supporting PMF (Iranian backed militia) to secure western Iraq caused even further instability in the region. Zero accountability in either case and nobody seemed to care at the time. How many conservation influencers prior to the bombing campaign actually cared about the mess in Iraq or Afghanistan? Twenty five years later, we left the region in worse chaos with stronger enemies. Every action today in Iran could lead to far bigger and bloodier conflict with no clear end. Strait of Hormuz choked? Gulf allies dragged in? Russia, China, Pakistan reacting? Taliban payback with our own $80+ billion worth of gear left behind? The world is a terrible place but we are not the World Police for everything that’s evil. At the same time, I couldn’t care less that the ayatollah got smoked. Good but they’ve already decentralized command and there’s no popular uprisings. So, now what? How many American lives will satisfy the urge to destroy evil and bring “democracy”? What’s the mission? What counts as victory? How do we exit? And most importantly, was this something We the People desired when we voted to elect @POTUS ? History is screaming at me that this is the first chapter of another forever war. I don’t know. I trust very little of what’s being released from the administration in regards to “weeks of operations”. With more dying, more broken families, and the same elites getting richer, I don’t see the benefit to the average American child after all we’ve been through the last 6 years. I’m not buying it again. Maybe we can focus on domestic issues we keep getting distracted from.

What could have been.
Knock out the ban on congressional stock trading in the lame duck session. Better to be late in doing the right thing than refuse to do the right thing. Make sure it applies to the executive branch as well.

Ok. Someone studied Obama. And also …. Is he not saying things that sound familiar?
RIP AIPAC El-Sayed: "To AIPAC, who spent $42 million against us: Thank you for giving me the opportunity to beat you twice." It's a new era when a Senator-elect, in his victory speech, accuses Israel of genocide and apartheid, to the roar of the crowds.

Nobody needs hindsight on this one. Republicans in power love Cooper. The donor class loves Cooper. NC is about to be in for a wild ride policy wise.
With the benefit of hindsight, there is no North Carolinian alive who could have beaten Roy Cooper in 2026

Weird. I guess you can have great schools and still be “underfunded” It would be great if someone would just hold politicians accountable and ask “How much?”
The concept of well funded schools, parks, and libraries for our children is literally terrifying to right wing extremists like this

This is awesome to see.
He’s still here. He’s got a fan club. Including us.

A correction is appropriate but the damage done. Stop with making everything political. Reporter is the job. And she is literally doing her job.
Nine minutes later... Yeah, that worked. #ncpol Reporter. That's the title.

No
Rarely do I whine "Why isn't this a bigger story?" But this qualifies. Have any NC Republicans spoken up? Will no one to stand up to the president? Budd was there. Whatley was there. Buckout was there. It's Murphy's district. What about NCGA leaders? Does no Republican care?

Awesome. We don’t deserve generational wealth. Affordable housing. None of it. We sold ourselves and the future of our children a long time ago and lack the courage to get it back. Shame on all of us.
Democratic State Superintendent Mo Green, State Board of Education chair Eric Davis and vice chair Alan Duncan issued a joint statement today opposing North Carolina constitutional amendments to lower the cap on state income taxes and restrict local property taxes. #ncpol #nced

“Where did you get the idea …” “Yes it used to be a requirement …” And … to top it off, Charles feels attacked. 😂 I like Charles. Don’t know him, never spoken, but he sometimes makes really good points. Sometimes he says things that are just below his own abilities.
Imagine attacking someone for not knowing history while defending the ownership of property as a prerequisite to voting rights. Yes it used to be a requirement Chad, but it was ruled unconstitutional in 1969 and that ruling has been affirmed several times. Try google next time.

😂 Blame Russia. Got it.
My first thought is that Russia is behind all of this.

It’s actually a very old concept. Not new at all. If Charles ever thought about any time period other than his own, he would know this is not new.
Where did you get the idea that you have to own property to vote?

WCPSS paid out $720M in bonuses in 2022. They got hundreds of millions in covid funding. And didn’t fix the HVAC. Here’s the thing. Voting for this bond does not force the behavior we need from the board. HVAC is an issue. And they need to learn how to make the right priorities with the funding they have. Otherwise, you’ll continue to get exactly this.
Will Wake County voters pass the $680M school bond? It promises HVAC and building repairs. Supporters promote how bond would address the ongoing HVAC issues. Critics question Wake's lack of past spending on HVAC maintenance. newsobserver.com/news/local/… #ncpol #nced #wcpss

We need more, and larger data centers to counter this.
Rolling blackouts coming to North Carolina this winter?

Wow. What a downturn.
I'm just never registering or voting ever again at this point

Patriot : Example A
Of the 20 Emerald Isle residents who went to the town’s first open discussion on ALPR cameras and a thermal police drone, I was the only one under 65. Luckily, more than 75% voiced opposition to these surveillance tools. The 45 and under generation needs to do better. Signing a petition or posting online is fine, but showing up and speaking is far more effective. Two more sessions are planned this month before the town brings it back on the agenda.

What happened to “who’s gonna pave the roads”. Fake opposition this post is.
Wow. Gas tax relief through November. If they actually wanted to lower costs for North Carolinians, why not extend it past the election?
30
I still have no idea why this wasn’t done for Western NC … #ncpol
Bill draft shows gas tax would be suspended through the end of November. Language may have some minor tweaks to come. #ncpol
