For more than a decade, we’ve worked alongside Teletón Children’s Oncology Hospital (Hospital Infantil Teletón de Onoclogía) to advance cancer care for children in Mexico. Today, we celebrated another step in that collaboration with the inauguration of Elekta Unity, bringing MR-guided radiation therapy to their dedicated pediatric oncology setting and helping broaden access to advanced cancer care in the region.

Elekta and Siemens Healthineers have signed a letter of intent to work on standards-based interoperability between their oncology platforms. For healthcare providers using technologies from multiple vendors, exchanging and using information across systems can be complex. Through this intended joint effort, Elekta and Siemens Healthineers will explore how semantic interoperability could improve the exchange and consistent interpretation of information across their respective oncology platforms, while continuing to innovate independently. We look forward to sharing more as the project progresses.

Looking 3–5 years ahead, how widely will online adaptive radiotherapy be used?

"We have achieved roughly a 60-fold reduction in computation time: calculations that used to take me 2 to 3 hours are now completed in less than 10 minutes." For more than 20 years, Elekta and the Catalan Oncology Center in Perpignan, France, have partnered to deliver precise radiotherapy for patients. Since introducing Elekta ONE Planning in November 2025, the team has gone from around a hundred pending treatment plans and contours to zero backlog, patients can now be scanned in the morning and have their contours and plans processed the same day.
