My favorite technology is technology that enables very specific forms of laziness. I know exactly how I want a photo to look. I can visualize the background, lighting, colors, everything. What I cannot do is spend three hours watching Photoshop tutorials to learn how to make it happen. So being able to open Glam AI and basically say “put me somewhere that looks like an expensive Mediterranean hotel, sunset, warm light, please don’t change my face” feels like someone finally designed photo editing for my brain. AI replacing creativity? Not really. AI replacing the boring technical gap between an idea and actually making it? I’m extremely okay with that. I love having good photos. I hate literally everything required to get them. Finding a photographer. Picking a date. Finding a location. Planning outfits. Getting ready. Then spending an hour pretending that having a camera pointed directly at me is a completely normal and relaxing experience. I’ve been experimenting with Glam AI instead and realized that half the time I don’t actually need new photos. I already have hundreds where I like my face, pose or outfit — they just have boring lighting or the wrong setting. Changing those things with AI basically turns old camera roll photos into a mini photoshoot without leaving the house. Much more compatible with my personality.

There should be a specific term for the pain of looking incredible in a photo while absolutely everything behind you is terrible. Random people. Trash cans. Cars. Someone’s kitchen. A hotel room that looked much nicer on Booking. The one plastic chair that somehow becomes the main character of the picture. I used to just give up on those photos. Now I’ve started putting them into Glam AI and asking the AI chat to replace whatever is bothering me. It feels much more useful than generating an entirely fake version of yourself. I don’t want a new face or body. I just want the universe behind me to cooperate for once.

Something interesting is happening with AI photos lately. The edits that get my attention aren’t the completely generated “look at me on the moon” type anymore. It’s the subtle ones where you almost wouldn’t realize AI was involved. Different location. Better lighting. Cleaner background. Slightly different outfit. Same person, same photo, just a much better version of the circumstances. Saw someone using Glam AI like this and ended up downloading it myself. I think this is probably where consumer AI editing is heading: less “generate a fake life” and more “fix the annoying parts of my real one.”

I have thousands of photos on my phone and still regularly reach the conclusion that I have “nothing to post.” Which makes absolutely no sense. I think the actual problem is that we get bored of our own photos incredibly quickly. Same apartment, same streets, same mirror, same vacation pictures you already posted three months ago. Recently I started taking old photos and putting them through Glam AI instead of constantly trying to take new ones. Different backgrounds, aesthetics, lighting, outfits, weird filters, whatever. And suddenly photos I’d completely forgotten about feel usable again. Maybe we don’t need to create more content. Maybe we just need better ways to remix the ridiculous amount we already have.

I have a theory that AI filters are becoming the new version of trying clothes on in a fitting room. You tell yourself you’re just going to test one thing. Then suddenly you’ve tried 14 completely different aesthetics and started questioning decisions you’ve been making for the last five years. I opened Glam AI because I wanted to edit one photo and ended up seeing myself with different hair, outfits, makeup, backgrounds and aesthetics. Some were absolutely not me. Some were suspiciously convincing. And now I understand why these apps are addictive. It’s not really about making a “better” version of yourself. It’s getting to test alternate versions without actually committing to any of them.

I realized recently that my LinkedIn photo was several years old, but the idea of booking an actual professional headshot session just to replace one tiny circle on the internet felt ridiculous. So I tried the lazy 2026 solution instead. Took a normal photo where I liked how I looked, uploaded it to Glam AI and asked it to make the background cleaner, fix the lighting and make the whole thing feel more professional. It took maybe five minutes and honestly made me wonder how much of “professional photography” for things like LinkedIn is going to become an AI task. Not because photographers aren’t better — but because sometimes you literally just need ONE good photo.
