My failures as a woman (as perceived by me): -I don’t like putting effort into fancy meals or baked goods, if it takes more than 20 minutes of active work I’m not cooking it often -My cleanliness standard is “sanitary and functional” -I rarely wear makeup or fix my hair nicely

I get to visit. Hour and a half drive. People in LA are horrible drivers. And I’ve known this lady for 14 years, and I didn’t find out until today that she goes by her middle name.

Pray for a lady. She is in the hospital after having a heart attack in the car on the way home from visiting her grandchildren. Her husband, who is an Elder in our church was driving, so they’re in a hospital an hour and a half away from home. Their daughters are traveling now.

Reading Holes to my class. Stanley reads a letter to Zero. It references the Old Woman who lived in a Shoe. Zero has never heard of it. My students looked confused. None of them knew what was being referenced. Life mimicking text. We are studying nursery rhymes, now.

Update: she is awake and conversing They are thinking it wasn’t cardiac arrest, or a heart attack, but they’re not quite sure yet. Not sure about extent of damage.

I made it seven weeks before telling a kid “I don’t care“. My room, afterschool program, teacher tells kid to sit down in a chair. He sits on floor next to a friend. I tell him to do what he was told. He says I just wanted to sit by my friend and I said “I don’t care.”
