I’m delighted to have been awarded one of these fellowships! Can’t wait to get cracking at @UniofBath and develop a toolkit designed to promote positive self-evaluation in young people. #MentalHealth #Adolescents

Result of this paper suggests that an ‘island of resilience’ related to pro social self-evaluation is present in those young people with elevated symptoms of depression.

This is interesting, and particularly relevant to anyone training therapists and psychologists. 👇👇 Whether to give trigger warnings has been given much discussion. Good to see some data on it.
Trigger warnings are not effective. 24 studies, 7k people: alerts about upsetting content don't prevent distress or promote learning. All they do is raise anxiety. The best way to shield mental health isn't to sound an alarm beforehand. It's to make support available afterward.

"⁩It is a national scandal that over 400,000 children are stuck in limbo on a list, waiting for treatment. These children could fill Wembley stadium four times over. Of this number, 17,991 have been waiting for more than a year." rcpch.ac.uk/news-events/news…

Such an important question to ponder 💭
"This process-based CBT intervention, intentionally designed to promote positive well-being, was not found to be effective for early adolescents at the classroom level." nationalelfservice.net/?p=16… Why are we failing with universal school-based mental wellbeing interventions?

Instead of h-index, what about computing how likely someone is to work with you again after working with you once?
