While we do not support a tiered @SpotlightUK membership system, we want to reassure actors that it will make no difference to our members’ casting processes or their decisions on who to consider. All actors will appear in searches and can be suggested for all roles as before.

🔈 A message for Equity members
We share the frustration of many members at new @SpotlightUK tiered membership.
We recommend no @EquityUK member takes out ‘Premier membership’ until we understand the reasons for the change, & Council has discussed casting policy this November.

If you have an audition, your agent will tell you 😊
In the time they’ve spent replying to an actor asking “any auditions?” They could’ve gotten you one 😅
Trust your agent 🧡

Truly *know* that the length of your CV is not indicative of your talent, effort or ability. And someone else isn’t getting farther because they’re better, or more worthy. That doesn’t make it easier…but it shouldn’t affect your self belief. Sometimes that’s all we have!✊🏻💙

Been offered an audition or job on a P2P platform with pages of script to read & vague phrases like "for research"? How about terms that include "in perpetuity"? Step away from the script and send the details to your union. (And then fill out the survey, too).
Has Artificial Intelligence affected your work in the performing arts? Tell us about your experiences in our survey, by 12 Dec. You'll help shape our response to the increasing use of A.I. & how we engage with employers & policymakers.
